Well, I had high hopes for the Hopewell location.... they recently renovated, and they did have some really good staff there.... it has been a couple of months since I have been there. However, the other day, my son and I went in there to have breakfast, and the guy who was cooking violated at least five health codes while we were sitting there. There were several to go orders that were sitting on the counter being prepared. In the midst of everything, the cook cracked eggs, switched the egg white everywhere , put them in a pan, and stirred them up with a fork. He then grabbed two more eggs and put them in another pan and stirred them up. Again, raw egg was everywhere on his gloves and on the counter. Then I watched the pick up a paper container and dip grits into it and then place the container in one of the to-go containers right beside the eggs and bacon and toast that was in there. HE NEVER CHANGED HIS GLOVES!!!! I could see egg on the side of the container touching the other food. I looked at my son and said, "Let's go." we then got up and walked out... I will not go back... this is the second time I've seen this in a Waffle House.
The first time was on Route 10 and a brand new Waffle House. That particular picked up raw chicken and then grabbed a and started putting food on it without changing his gloves...this incident I reported to the manager, his response was "well he's not normally on the line cooking." My response was well he doesn't need to be on the line cooking if he doesn't know what he's doing." The manager then offered me 10% off and to cook my food personally. I declined, I told him, but I would not eat here on principal, and I'm giving him a chance to correct the problem. Otherwise, I would have reported it straight to the health department.
I'm so disappointed.... I love waffle houses, but I always sit where I...
Read moreThe worse Waffle House experience ever. I knew it was bad when we went in and everything looked hectic, but that's what we like about waffle houses. They always seem chaotic, but food is always fast and good, but this location was chaotic beyond chaotic. We witnessed 3 arguments between workers, which lead us to realize this was a bad decision. It took 15 minutes to get coffee we ordered and we never got our ice waters. After another 15 minutes food comes out and isn't right. Delivered partial of some food. We start eating expecting the rest to come. After another 10 minutes of the rest of food not coming we ask for manager. That was a mistake because he was rude. Asked us if we wanted the food or not because it was our choice. Huh?? Why would we order if we didn't want the food. We would like our food to come out at the same time, so if that is asking too much, please forgive us. We were waiting on 2 orders of bacon, 2 waffles and chicken melt. Now mind you they were cooking bacon ahead by the dozen pieces and they were just sitting there, so how do we not get bacon with our plates? Just a disaster so we just walked out the restaurant to keep from showing out. Stay away from...
Read moreNice place. Friendly and enjoyable. Lynn is very attentive, but it seems you need to be a certain type of person to get the same service from some of the other girls. I really like one of the manager's style. Quiet, mello, and he commands the respect of the staff. I think he does a very good job of keeping the store running smoothly. Ashley is another good one and very attractive, as is Nicolettea. Very sweet, and helpful when I'm unable to decide what I want. Others can seem to pester you when you deciding, but Ashley as I said is helpful and respectful. On the bad side, you need to watch where you sit or who serves you. Some of the waitress only pay attention to certain types of people. It is quite annoying to wait 5, 10, or 20 minutes for fresh coffee when you can see your waitres at the other end of the store flirting. You don't get this from Ashley, Lynne, Nikkie or Bell. Oh, and to the servers that don't bother with applying the military discount when Soldiers are in uniform, don't worry about it. I'm just not going to leave a...
