San Jose's Original Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Horizon West

So we decided to try the lunch special and decided on the carne asada torta, we could not believe how much steak, etc was in it especially for a lunch special 😱 we were so extremely impressed with everything. Our servers name was Andres, he was so nice, polite, checked on us a couple of times with absolutely no pressure watsoever. My daughter and I just kept talking among ourselves about how nice everything was. Well without telling Andres what it was for we asked for the mgr which probably made him a little nervous wondering if he did something wrong 🤣 anyway the mgr came right away introduced hisself, his name is Omar and what a nice guy, we started out saying the food was delicious and we went on and on just talking, what a sincere guy, so true nothing fake about him and believe me I pick up very easily when it’s just about the business, my whole point I have to say this is truly our first time we have felt in all honesty like a family restaurant, I highly recommend it 💯 percent and will definitely be visiting it a lot, thank you so much Andres and Mr.Omar you are really running a wonderful place especially making everything...

On Saturday night, August 24, I visited this place for dinner. The menu was very detailed, describing the dishes. I ordered a Chimichanga, but unfortunately, it was pretty different from what I expected. The Chimichanga had many hot beans, and the grilled chicken inside was not as well-prepared as I had hoped, and the cheese dip on top was poor. I spoke with my server, Isabel, who was attentive and brought the matter to the manager's attention. While the manager acknowledged the issue, unfortunately, as a new resident of Windermere, I was disappointed to have had such a bad experience at this restaurant. In contrast, other restaurants such as El Patron at Lake Buena Vista, Calacas Bar and Grill, Fiesta in Altamonte, San Marcos and La Authentica Mexican Restaurant in Panama City Beach, Los Mageyes in Ocala, and Agave Azul just here in Windermere have consistently provided well-prepared Chimichangas and supportive management. Those Restaurants above never add the very hot beans inside the Chimichanga and their chicken and chesee dip are very good prepared!

Pros: Deals - They offer great deals for meal combos and drinks. We also used a coupon from Valpak. Service - Everyone was friendly and smiling. No one seemed overwhelmed. Our waiter was excellent with timing and checking in. Junior sizes - I like that they offer junior sizes, which are smaller dishes than the regular but larger than kids. I rarely finish my whole meal, so this was a win. Tacos - They are generous with toppings. Menu descriptions - Everything was exactly as described, simple and authentic. Interior - They have a cute floral display and the space is very open. Everything was clean. Music - Good playlist and at the appropriate volume. Room temperature- Just right.
