I love a good sports bar and I especially love when I discover one that is large in size with a unique feature that sets it apart in a crowded market. Biggios Sports Bar, located inside the Marriott Marquis hotel in downtown Houston, is one such place. Biggios Sports Bar is designed with sports viewing in mind and its number one appeal is the vast number of televisions and stacked jumbo screens. The establishment is two stories in size and the televisions cover both levels, with open views from top to bottom. This means that, if you’re sitting at the bar, you will have small screens that are stacked and require tilting your head skyward to view. And in keeping with the emphasis on televisions and sports viewing, they even have a stacked pair of jumbo screens. This is cool not just because of the size, but also because you can watch two different sporting events on the massive screens at the same time. A visit to Biggios Sports Bar makes sense just for the televisions, but there are other good reasons to visit. The food menu is limited, but just right for a sports bar. I like that the choices are kept to a modest level because it makes it much easier to decide what to eat. You can select among appetizers, tacos, hot dogs, burgers, salads, etc. In other words, what they serve is much like what you would eat at the ballpark, which makes sense considering the establishment was founded by Astros great Craig Biggio. And the quality of the food is generally good. I ordered the Texas flatbread pizza on my last visit and found it meaty and filling, not to mention an excellent match with my beer. Speaking of beer, craft beer fans will like what they find here. The selection isn’t overwhelming, but it is quite good, with a nice assortment of draft and bottled/canned options. If you would rather drink wine or booze, they serve that, too. And depending on how crowded it is inside, there is a second bar upstairs to serve the thirsty crowd. Because Biggios Sports bar is located in downtown Houston, inside the Marriott Marquis hotel, it can take some effort to find a place to park and it could cost you, especially if the Astros or Rockets are playing. I also had some issues with the service here, as I had to make the same request multiple times before I got what I wanted. But other than these issues, Biggios Sports Bar is still the place to go in downtown Houston for sports viewing. The massive television sets and festive yet classy atmosphere place Biggios Sports Bar in a league all its own.

What a beautiful place! Hubby and I were greeted by a sweet hostess which kept us out to date as we waited for our table, she was very prompt about letting us know they were cleaning the table and it wouldn’t be much longer. The lobby is decorated amazingly! Although hubby and I argued over the posted made out of baseball cards right by the host stand lol he said it’s not baseball cards I however said it was, the host tried to help out but she said she wasn’t sure either lol. We had a younger, skinny African American male as our server and please forgive me for dropping the ball on his name! He was very educated on the menu and drink menu. He was very prompt in coming to check on us and asking lots of questions. Hubby got the steak and potatoes medium rare and I got the Mac and cheese with brisket! Can I say that Mac and cheese lasted 5 seconds lol it was Devine and so so good! Hubbys steak came out very well done with the wooden stick in it that said “medium well” and our server sent it back asap. The second steak came out with a wooden stick that said “medium rare” and it was still very much so well done. The chef Tony I believe was his name came out with a third steak he made himself and it was perfect! It was plated and presented absolutely perfectly and it was cooked perfectly! Everyone was very understanding and quick to fix the mistake. As we understand the time of the evening as it was closer to closing everyone was probably tired and mistakes can happen their quick responses to get it right was very professional and helpful! We will absolutely be back soon no worries at all! The atmosphere was great and very welcoming! We definitely need clarification on the picture when you first walk in lol so we can settle the debate!!

I had to take a day before writing this review. Not sure why this bad experience made be so upset but it was most likely because I was so disappointed. I grew up in an era where Craig Biggio was the Houston Astros to me. I would have been OK with just an OK experience but this got to me. When I worked in the service industry many years ago we were taught that one bad customer experience was equal to 10. With social media now a bad customer's review can reach 1000s or more. This should be taught more. It started when I was sat. It took probably 15-20 minutes before a server came to me after I was seated. I was a little annoyed because I really needed a drink. The server apologized when she arrived and claimed it as a section coverage mix up. I would of left it at that as mistakes can happen. I did get my beverage in an acceptable amount of time. Took quite some time to get my burger and chips. Now I will next time confirm whether chips are fries or actual chips. If I wanted chips I would go to a store and get better tasting ones. At least make them unique. Now the burger. No flavor, no sauce. You have to put the condiments on yourself. Mayo and mustard. Also when some one orders a burger cooked it doesn't mean burnt and dried out. I told the server it when she asked how it was that it was burnt and she just smiled and left. Came back 20 mins later and I asked for the bill. It took over 10 more minutes to get it finally. It was a bad start to the evening. I hope that I am the one off bad experience and that others have a better experience. If you want a good burger go somewhere else. 20$ is way too much for what you are getting.

I came here earlier today because I was at a conference at the hotel. I went to the bar to order food to go. The guy at the bar was so apathetic and dismissive, I should've known to try some place else. It took a solid 20mins just for my order to be taken and there were only 4 people in front of me.

I ordered two salads with added shrimp. Came to almost $60, but it's all good because I was HUNGRY and assumed it'd hit the spot. To my surprise the salads came out quickly so I took them back upstairs to the conference.

We checked everything and realized that they gave us the wrong dressing, so I went back downstairs and waited for 15minutes to ask for a replacement salad dressing that took the bartender 30 seconds to bring me. I waited 15mins with NO LINE IN FRONT OF ME. I just stood there. No hello, no "I'll be right with you", nothing... he just walked back and forth tending to the other guests. Just not the customer service I'd expect.

To add insult to injury, I made it back upstairs and we cracked open our salads. One was fine, but mine was not. The shrimp were old, hard, and seemed like they were previously frozen from the day before. It was grey... not even pink.Under my lettuce I found 4 empty shrimp shells as if they were from previously eaten shrimp. Ewww.... I ate a few bites of the salad, but couldn't do it and threw the rest out.

I didn't have the stamina to go back downstairs to speak to the manager as I paid $1k for my conference ticket and already spent almost an hour between the two trips. $10 for a Chick-fil-A salad would've been a WAY better investment.

Ticket number #3212 under the name "King" was my order.

Management please check with the kitchen staff regarding the handling of the shrimp. There is NO WAY they are cooking fresh shrimp for salads. Dump whatever is in the freezer out because it was old and smelled fishy. That is a clear health...
