First time trying Boudreaux, and the food was alright. I ordered from DoorDash. I ended up getting 3 things. A Fried Shrimp PoBoy with fries, Crawfish Etouffee and a Kids fish with Fries and a Sweet Tea.
The Fried Shrimp PoBoy was actually good. It looked like an 8 inch Poboy with lettuce, tomato, pickles, and Mayo. Honestly, I've never heard of Pickles on a PoBoy before (I currently work in a Cajun Restaurant). Usually, a PoBoy comes with lettuce, tomato, and mayo, but to each their own.
The Crawfish Etouffee, which is literally one of my favorite dishes, was quite disappointing. The quality of the etouffee to rice is unmatched, but the flavor was really lacking. I just wished that they had put some salt in the etouffee, then it would be one of the best.
The kids' fish with fries was overall decent. I got to try a piece of what looks like fried catfish. It was seasoned very well, and so were the fries. The sweet tea, though, wasn't that sweet, which is perfect for my son.
As far as service, I didn't get a chance to experience that since I ordered from DoorDash. I will be there in person next time before I give my opinion on the service. In the meantime, I'll order...
Read moreI have not been here since 2003. Went back on a Saturday in November around 5. I must say that they didn't disappoint either. We were joining a party of 15 on this day; however, they would be leaving shortly after our arrival. So I ordered the food over the phone to go. When we arrived the food was ready in the time promised, it was piping hot, and delicious. We began to eat a bit before departing to our next destination. I ordered the bowl of seafood gumbo & a crabcake. My husband ordered etouffe over the phone, and boudain balls at the register. They were quickly prepared & very good. The boudain balls are pretty big, fried to perfection with a nice crisp as you bite into a ball of flavors. The crabcakes are pretty pricey (1-$10, 2-$16) so I know I will not make a habit of ordering those unfortunately. Do get the yellow sauce to go with your crabcake. Oh, beverages! Margaritas were alright 🤷🏽 I'm not sure about them having servers or just hospitality wise bc within the 45 minutes of us being at the table nobody came around to see how we (or any other tables) were doing. Everything was fine. Go check out the establishment. The town considers this a baby Pappadeaux...
Read moreHello, To whom it may concern: I recently visited your Boudreaux location at Gulfgate in Houston Tx., I visit your restaurant at least twice a month for a period of five years or more. This time i was very disappointed in the service. I ordered 2 plates from the menu over the phone. 1 was shrimp and fish the other was Pecan Crusted Chicken salad. When i paid I asked the cashier if I could pay these 2 orders separatedly. She said yes. One order was fish and shrimp, the food was put in a styrofoam looking so sad with no effort in making it look inviting to the eye or "I can't wait to get home to eat it" feeling. Just cause it was fish and shrimp doesn't have to look like ti was just thrown in to the plate and there you go. I asked to pay separate orders , so when i question the price two more people approached the register and said pay the ticket and if your confused we will print and THEN explain the charges if your not saitisfied we will refund the money owed to you. Of course i found it to be an unusual tactic. Anyway my concern is the way the whole transaction was handled. Thank you for your concern and I love your food, always have. ...
