I went on a Friday evening. The food was amazing, the service was phenomenal, and the band was great. I'll have to return. I had the lobster ravioli, the brownie a la lode, plea bargain, a baileys drink, and Moscato.
The lobster ravioli was better than I anticipated, I really could've eaten more, the bread was perfect for sopping up all the sauce. They didn't have to make the brownie so addictive. The extra chocolate chips made me so happy. I tried to eat the brownie slowly to savor every bite. Cheers to the chef. ššš
The parking lot is small but I arrived early, sooooo be early. I loved my server, I think he was new, so he was sweet and attentive. Much love to him. š
The band was a singer playing a guitar and a drum player, they played great alternative favorites. He had a great voice and very talented because they sounded amazing for two people. The singer had a beautiful voice.
UPDATE I went back with my cousin because it was the closest place to his hotel that was open. We went on a Wednesday night and it was dead. I'm not too surprised. It was a chill night with no performances and few people.
We had the Jumbo shrimp scampi, wings, cheese bread, and the crab stuffed mushrooms. The stuffed mushroom tastes great with the sauce, without it's bland. The wings have zero seasoning, my cousin added salt, pepper, hot sauce, and dipped it in the side sauces. The jumbo shrimp scampi is delicious, well seasoned, and the bread to mop up the sauce is a nice addition. The cheese bread was okay, the cheese seemed bland, I'm guessing they used the bag shredded cheese instead of freshly grated block cheese. The sauce for the cheese bread tasted weird, as if it had too much oregano or thyme, it was something bitter and I couldn't place it. It would have been better with a garlic butter sauce or ranch sauce. Also, it needed to be toasted a little longer.
It's still a great option for food. I'll go back to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came in via reservation on Christmas day with the expectation that it would be busy. We were told right away it was going to be a "super long wait. Like over an hour." We were understanding and thankful we could get in somewhere after driving all day. We put in our orders (Mac n cheese, spaghetti and Alfredo with one appetizer) along with some drinks. About half an hour later they were replaced another half hour rolled by and we noticed tables that had been seated after us were receiving their appetizers. We asked for another round of drinks and asked about our appetizer. "I can't even go into the kitchen they're so busy but they're coming I promise" another 45 minutes and the waitress brought the entrees for 3 tables sat after us. We asked the waitress if the appetizer was ready yet and she said she saw it coming up so it'll be here shortly and then asked if we wanted more drinks we declined as our food was coming about 10 minutes later I walked up to her and asked if she could check on the food. She said shed go get it. After another 30 minutes and my mom left to find the waitress. When she came back she told us the waitress said the kitchen lost our ticket but they're making the food now so it'll just be 20 more minutes. The appetizer was burnt (but good), my mom's Alfredo was freezing, but the other dishes were fine. The waitress then came to apologize stating that she would've just left after an hour instead of waiting (it was Christmas and we had nowhere else to go). We were ultimately upset that this could've been avoided by checking on your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had high hopes for Caponeās Pizza Oven and Bar based on the great reviews, but unfortunately, my experience fell far below expectations. My husband and I dined in and were surprised to find the restaurant mostly empty, which made the slow, lukewarm food even more confusing.
The mozzarella sticks were crunchy on the outside but lacked the gooey cheese pull because they werenāt served hot. The crab-stuffed mushrooms were just okay but also lukewarm and lacking flavor. We ordered a house salad that was supposed to include warm dāAnjou pear and goat cheese, but neither were present. I did enjoy the candied walnuts, though.
We also tried the Steakhouse pizza. While it came out hot with a perfectly crispy crust, the steak on it had a strange, unpleasant taste that ruined it for us. The other toppings were fine. My husband especially liked the fresh jalapeƱos, but the steak was a dealbreaker.
Service was also disappointing. Our waitress seemed checked out, forgetful and disengaged. Given that we were the only ones dining in (with just a few people at the bar), there was really no excuse for the food arriving cold or for the inattentive service.
My husband is willing to give it another shot, maybe sitting at the bar next time and trying a different pizza. As for me, Iām...
