Food is good but lacks cleanliness. This place is understaffed. There is a young woman who handles the counter, cleans the tables and handles everything outside of kitchen. They need at least one extra staff member to handle cleaning. Often we have to clean our own chairs and sometimes even the table needs some wiping. We come here to eat, not to wipe other people’s messes. Once their woman’s restroom was out of order. When I visited them 2 weeks later, it was still out of order - do they expect their women patrons to not have access to a restroom? Today the restroom was so dirty, we finished the appetizer we ordered and then went to another restaurant to complete our meal. We saw their employee cleaning a table that was just vacated, when this employee found a unopened utensil with the food and plates the patrons left behind, they picked it up and put it back on the stack of utensils which patrons help themselves to - that is a big no no!
Responding to the owner’s comment: When you clean the tables, clean the chairs too, especially if there is food on them. Cleaning tables/chairs is not something you do “every single day”, it is something you do every time a customer vacates a table. When a patron tells you your restroom is dirty, do at least a basic clean up of the restroom If you find unused plastic spoon/forks etc. on a table that has just been vacated, do not put it back on the stack of utensils offered to customers. Its unhygienic and disrespectful. ....THAT is how it works in the...
Read moreI went there for the first time today . Their chat was stale . Service horrible. No ice water . My sister ordered the dessert like one order Falooda ice cream and one order of Kulfi . They mixed the two , when we told them this is not what we ordered , they refused to give two separate orders as ordered. So I asked for my money. The owner came over , was very rude and said it is not their fault , raised his voice and told us to get out and pushed us out and refused to give our money back . I visit restaurants almost 3 to 4 times a week with friends and my family, have never experienced any such behavior, him being almost ready to hit me and said never step on his property again . I told him after his this behavior I do not think anybody will like to comeback. For less than $10 he created a big Hungama. Instead of apologizing and taking care of the problem he told us to get out . His girl at the register gave me the money back , when he saw that he really got mad at her . My sister got scared of his loud voice and throwing us out , she told me let us leave the place as she got afraid he might hit me . We are much older than him and he had no manners how to talk to his customers. We will never visit this place again . Food no good , service horrible and management the worse of all . Hope they learn one day how to treat their customers whenever there is a...
Read moreI don't usually hand out 1-star reviews, but my experience here was shockingly bad—especially for a place that’s been listed as a top chaat spot in Houston. I came in excited, but I left feeling completely let down.
Ordering was quick, and the woman at the counter was polite, but everything went downhill fast. The tables looked like they hadn’t been cleaned properly, and the utensils weren’t much better—basic cleanliness wasn’t there.
We ordered the chaat platter, planning to order more food after. After a 20-minute wait in a nearly empty restaurant, we were served what I can only describe as four bite-sized samples, barely enough to share between two people. For $16, I expected at least a decent portion, but this was ridiculous. I’ve been to plenty of chaat places around the area, and a “platter” typically means you get more than a single bite of each item. Here, it was like they were rationing it out, and to top it off, the flavor was flat and disappointing.
If you’re looking for great chaat with real portions and flavor, go to Shiv Sagar instead. You’ll get three times the food, half the price, and flavors that actually make you want to come back. This place needs a serious overhaul if it wants to keep that “top...
