Corina's Bakery & More — Restaurant in Houston

Stumbled upon this gem by accident while looking for a birthday cake. There was a wait outside as only 2 people were allowed in at any one time due to covid health regulations. It took only a few minutes, but when it was my turn to go in, it was worth the wait. The bakery itself looked fairly new, it was small in size but it smelled wonderful and was very clean. They have hand sanitizer at the door for customers to use before they are handed tongs and a tray to use for choosing any baked goods one might like. It is a panaderia and bakeshop selling pretty awesome cakes. I opted for 2 fruit empanadas, guayaba (guaca) and pineapple flavors. They had also just brought out a tray of sweet cream filled croissants fresh from the oven couldn't resist grabbing one. As for the cakes, there were several to choose from in their refrigerated display case and I opted for a petite green frosted round tres leches cake with pink roses piped on top and around the border at the bottom of it(super cute). Their prices are very reasonable, the service was great and they were modern enough to have touchless pay which in our case was Samsung pay. Honestly I’ve order cakes over the years and have always highly recommended them to everyone and anyone. However, today trying to place an order was the most difficult. My husband who spoke Spanish tried to talk to the girl after I wasn’t getting through to her what I was wanting on the phone and she wasn’t even listing, to either of us. I texted the number they give and was very direct to we can’t do that we can only do buttercream or cool whip. Which is wild because I just wanted a smooth butter cream or textured butter cream cake in a light or tan color. This was by far the worst customer experience I have had with them and I guess I won’t refer anyone to them anymore. Corina's Bakery & More made the most amazing cake I have ever seen. Not only was it SO BEAUTIFUL to look at (almost looked like it was not real!!), it was also incredibly delicious. All our guests commented on how impressed they were with the cake! This team truly stepped up and helped us through the experience. They made some recommendations (using platforms for the cake, adding flowers between the layers) that I think ultimately made this cake really elegant and modern looking.
