Del Vista — Restaurant in Houston

So I was looking around for a new spot to have a drink and I came here with my date, but we only had one drink which the cocktails were pretty good pretty much a 10 out of 10! The establishment itself was real nice and cozy. The restroom was clean. The waiters were really nice and respectable the way the food smelled was amazing this place looks great and I’m pretty sure the vibe at night is even better ! So you’re probably wondering why I gave them a one star rating well…….. like I said me and my date came here during the day just for one drink (each) since we already ate elsewhere but I was telling her we should definitely come over here for dinner. It’s kind of hard to do that now because when we were getting ready to pay our tab it was originally for $23 for two drinks not a bad price, but the bartender accidentally charged us for 130 and pretty much locked my debit card out because he tried to run it twice by mistake even though he did void it it still got locked up and I had to wait for the money to be reimbursed back into my account now I get it people make mistakes but that is a huge mistake to make for a couple that just had two drinks which makes me think if I go eat there for dinner, I wouldn’t want this to happen to me again so for now I’ll wait but other than that place...

After reading some of the reviews, I am convinced that many of the diners haven't experienced a high quality restaurant with exceptional food. It was very disappointing for our first visit. The service was OK. We ordered a moderately priced bottle of wine, I had a wedge salad that tried to be more than it is supposed to be, two dressings that overwhelmed the entire salad, and a number of other things that were indistinguishable in the flood of dressing. It was topped with a cold piece of bacon. I also ordered the mussels. It was a good portion, but the mussels tasted strong and old. I didn't finish the plate. My wife's trout was "smothered" in sauce and vegetables preventing the subtle flavor of the trout to be enjoyed. I shared the comments with the server, but nothing was done. No manager approached us.
