The worst experience I've ever had at Whataburger. I get there at 2:17am it's 5 cars in the drive-thru and no customers inside so I park to go in. I know for a fact the lobby should be open because this is not my first time going at this hour but to my surprise the lobby door is locked now I have to wait. That was the 1st issue. 2nd issue. As I'm looking at the menu I see the new avocado bacon burger. I'm like ooh that looks good let get that, but before I order it I asked what all comes on it. At this point I could hear the frustration in the lady's voice with me as she tells me what comes on the burger. Then I asked what's in the pepper sauce, again she gives me attitude by saying "I don't know" then proceeds to tell me it's peppers and spicy ranch dressing. So I just say ok I'll get that without the pepper sauce and onions with a root beer w/o ice and can you cut it in half please. She says, "yes" tells me my total and to pull forward. 3rd issue. When I finally get to the window the lady says, "ok you had the patty melt with no pepper sauce and a root beer". I said, "No, I ordered the avocado bacon burger". She looks at her screen then back at me and say, "Did you order? Because I don't have an avocado burger on my screen". I say, "yes I did order, you don't remember me asking you what comes on the burger?" She says, "No. I didn't take your order". I asked well who took it then? Now I know it was her because I recognized her voice and she's givin me the same attitude from when I initially ordered my food. Then she tells me I'm going to have to go back through the drive-thru and order my food. At this point it's now about 6 to 7 cars behind me. I told her I absolutely will not! I ordered my food with you already. Why would I just go through the drive-thru and not order my food? She says, "Look, ppl do it all the time". I said, "well I'm not one of those people". At this point she's going back and forth with me because I want to know if she didn't take my order who did. Another employee had to walk up and tell her to just take my order. So she takes my order again this time without asking me what did I want to drink. She just handed me the root beer without ice. I'm thinking to myself if you were not the one to take my order in the first place how did you already know what I wanted to drink? Hmm! What I believe happened was she in fact was the one to take my initial order but she entered it in wrong as the patty melt without pepper sauce instead of the avocado bacon burger without pepper sauce. Which would have been fine, it was late you were rushing because it was busy. But don't get an attitude with me because of your mistake then tell me I need to drive back around and order again when you simple could have just corrected or taken my order right then without someone telling you to. 4th and final issue. My food was cold. If it just prepared how could this be possible? I live all of 7 minutes away. My fries were cold and hard. In all honesty, I only came for the fries and a cup of water, but seen the new burger and went for it. That's also why I wanted to go inside and order. It would have taken about 3 minutes at most. I didn't leave out the drive-thru until 2:45am. 28 whole minutes and $9 dollars in the trash. Thanks...
Read moreI don't know if they swapped beef providers but I chipped a tooth from something inside the beef patty! They don't want to work with me on the dentist bill! On September 8th my wife ordered our regular order from the Whataburger on San Felipe. I'm dairy free and gluten free -- but I still enjoy Whataburger without a bun. I pick it up and when I get back home I see cheese on the bunless burger! So--I go back and they remake my order. Literally adding injury to insult, after making two trips, I eat my burger patties (no bun, so I ordered a double) and while chewing I heard a crack! It felt like sand in my mouth and I moved over what felt like a solid object from the right side of my jaw to the left. I called Whataburger and was told my claim would be handled by a third party. Guess what? I had to call Whataburger back to have the 3rd party reach me. And then I had to call the 3rd party THREE times before I finally got a hold of someone. The rep from the 3rd party claim company is rude. I have a great job and dental insurance. I went to my regular dentist and they noted that I'm lucky as the wall of my tooth is intact and I don't feel pain BUT so much of my tooth is gone that I'll need a crown. I asked for an estimate and provided it to the Whataburger third party claim person. As she was rude and uncooperative I went from wanting to provide the item that was in my patty to Whataburger to only wanting to show the manager, Tristan, at the restaurant. Tristan told me on the phone that this wouldn't be the first time bone ended up being the patties over the years while he worked there. I drove to the restaurant and showed Tristan the item that chipped my tooth. When I showed him the item, he took photos of it with his phone. I let him know that the person that was handling my claim was not very cooperative and rude and for that reason I'm going to keep the item as I think I might need to go to small claims court and keep it as evidence Well, that claims person is telling me that they won't pay the claim unless I give the evidence to them. That doesn't sound very fair. So, I'll have to take them to court, pay a lab to analyze the thing I've bit into, and of course bill them for the hours of work I'm missing. Thank God I have dental insurance and can pay for my tooth but there goes my dental payout for the year until I win this case. Be very cautious eating there as if you end up having the same experience I did and you don't have dental insurance Whataburger is going to give you the middle finger and tell you to take a hike. Or take your evidence leaving you with no proof if they decide not to pay for your...
Read moreOn June 21, 2024, 11:15pm, I had the worst Whataburger experience in my life. In drive thru, First I got told to go to Lane B, and after a few minutes they came to take payment. There I discovered the order was taken wrong and needed to be corrected when I was paying, but the manager had the tactless nature to call out to the employee and tell him to “bring that here” in an abrupt and aggressive/annoyed tone. Next, we waited for some time (15 minutes) and were asked once by the manager “what’s your order again?” And we explained again the order. That’s when we were told “oh no we just gave that order to someone else” and they proceeded to remake said order. During our second wait of 15 minutes (in the same Lane B spot) at least two other times separate employees were sent out by the manager to ask what our order was. It was astounding the level of ineptitude that was displayed by this leadership (or lack thereof). The second time an employee came to ask what we ordered after being told by the manager our previous order was handed to somebody else, I asked to speak to the manager to explain the frustration. When my order was finally brought out, it was the same employee and was told “sorry it’s just too busy the manager can’t come out”. So the manager has time to hand out wrong orders and tell others to clean up for her own mistakes, but isn’t willing to come speak to a customer when there is a problem? The cherry on top is when I get home to open the order, and lo and behold, they got it wrong (BoB w/ sausage instead of bacon which was stated explicitly several times).
The manager at this time should be reviewed at least and let go at most. I am incredibly unhappy with the experience and will certainly think twice before considering this Whataburger...
