Truthfully! Overrated! Visited this place because it’s up the road from where I live and saw it was literally packed every day essentially on weekends. Wife called me and asked if I wanted to go try the place out for dinner tonight when I’m off work and I agreed. This was a Wednesday evening. Walked in and no one was at the counter at the time we walked in and followed was a lady behind us with 3-4 kids. A young lady finally came and questioned the officer who came in first and he clearly said me and my wife. Why did this young girl not only she didn’t greet us but took the lady and her kids to be seated before me and my wife and we were shocked. Okay let’s ignore that and move on before I walk out already because not only she didn’t greet us she seated other people who came in behind us she must have knew them. Finally get seated and someone immediately came out with chips and salsas and water and was told our waitress would be with us shortly. That never happened because he was more focused on a table that had about 6 people and was not interested in us. I’m assuming the manager noticed the waitress was not balancing his time at each table very well and she came and rescued him. She greeted us with a smile and took our order. Once our order was called it came out in a timely manner. The original waitress still was not being attentive but yet you have to tip them. My overall experience was okay and the food was okay for what I had which was the combination egg rolls. My wife had something that she really didn’t enjoy because it’s still in the refrigerator. Birra tacos I believe. Portion sizes were very good for the price. We also tried the sampler frozen drinks and it also was okay and could have used a little bit more alcohol but flavors were a very good. I wish they had booths in some areas to allow a more pleasant experience instead of tables and chairs that sits absolutely to close for my comfort to the point you can’t have a decent conversation without people listening. My advice go on a week day and you have a better chance of getting seated in a timely manner. Thanks to that young lady manager for saving our experience....
Read more"I have previously visited the Dona Leti’s location on Washington and had an excellent experience, with attentive staff and great service. However, my recent visit to the new Post Oak location was extremely disappointing, especially considering it was a birthday celebration.
We waited over 15 minutes before being acknowledged by our server. When he finally approached us, he was dismissive, rushed, and did not even introduce himself. The interaction felt impersonal and unprofessional—he brought us water and then disappeared for an extended period. Despite our efforts to engage in friendly conversation, he was disengaged, staring at his tablet and barely responding.
I mentioned that it was my birthday, but he completely ignored this and made no attempt to acknowledge the special occasion. When we asked to switch to a different section or server, our request was denied. In addition to the poor service, there were disruptive and loud arguments nearby, and we overheard alarming conversations about a gun.
This experience was a stark contrast to the excellent service I’ve received at other locations. I’m truly disappointed, especially since this was supposed to be a special occasion. I hope management takes this feedback seriously to improve the experience for...
Read moreFirst off, my server, Hedara? I hope that's the correct spelling was AWESOME! We sat at the bar because it was PACKED! Good sign, right? Wrong! It took an hour to get our food. Our orders were verified before it was turned in. Each time that food came out, it was given to the wrong person. When my food came out, same thing, was almost given to the wrong person. My food LOOKED good! I took a few bites and noticed a strange taste. It was SHRIMP in my steak fajita enchiladas! YUCK, I DON'T EAT SHRIMP! It's a good thing that I'm not allergic, that would have been a disaster. The manager was called, she apologized and said that the order would be remade. At this point, it was nearly 2 hours there and I asked for the order to go. I THOUGHT that the mgr. said that she would comp my meal (it was loud in there). When my to go was ready so was I. The server gives me a check, whaaat?👀. We call the mgr over again and she says that she didn't say that my meal was comped. Oooookay, so what now? She stated that she COMPED the first meal!!!! You mean the meal that I didn't order that could have sent me to the hospital had I been allergic to shrimp? Long story, long, it's very disorganized at Dona Letis. They don't have the concept of what good customer service is. BRAVO...
