Eadough Pastries and Provisions is a walk-up bakery and cafe offering baked goods and lunch bowls.
I have been to Eadough quite a few times and have tried different items on every visit. Although they are mostly known for their pastries, their lunch bowls are my favorite! I have gotten the falafel rice bowl with green tahini and herbed yogurt sauce and and chicken tikka rice with the mint chutney and herbed yogurt sauce.
The bowls are very filling at a great price, and I usually eat them for both lunch and dinner! Their bowls are well seasoned and has lentil rice, pickled cabbage, cucumber, tomato, parsley, onion, roasted cauliflower, spiced chickpeas, and a seed blend. They are hearty and pair well with the fresh made pita.
Their pastries and coffee are also delicious. I have tried their chocolate croissant, butter croissant, Dubai chocolate croix, and raisin pastry.
The chocolate croissant pastry is my favorite out of all the ones I tried; it is flaky and buttery but on the sweeter side compared to most pain au chocolat. Maybe it was because I had the butter croissant at a later time, but I found it to be more in the softer and chewier side rather than flaky but still very buttery nonetheless.
The filling in the Dubai croix is crunchy, and I really enjoy the filling. However, the chocolate tempered on top was too sweet for me. The raisin pastry (forgot the official name) was flaky and buttery—my second favorite!
They also have house made syrups for their coffee. Their caramel and vanilla latte are pretty good, but the dirty chai was a bit sour for some reason.
The main downside is the parking. The road is narrow, and there is very, very limited parking, especially on the weekends. Even on the weekdays, parking was tough during lunch time, and I had to circle around numerous times and eventually parked on the side a distance away.
Eadough is now on my list for lunch bowls and pastries, and great for grabbing food and having a...
Read moreDecided to stop by one morning in search of a viral flat croissant for my girlfriend one morning and left without said croissant, but pleasantly surprised with what I got.
When I scoped this place out I noticed it was a walkup order window spot which had me a little concerned with parking. Luckily, when I arrived there were a few spots available in front and on the side of the building, and even though there was a line I was able to find parking with no issues. A bonus is that this is along a bike trail if you need a mid-ride pick me up.
I thought the walkup order window gave the spot a very cool local neighborhood feel that I appreciate, although this may be a little less ideal for some when summer hits.
After waiting in a short line I received word that they had sold out of the flat croissants. I know these are very popular and it would be nice if there were more available but I can't hold this against them. Rather than walk away empty-handed I decided to order a Cheddar and Rosemary Scone ($5.00) and an Iced Fruity Pebbles Latte ($5.00). The scone was delicious and walked a fine line between sweet and savory which I particularly appreciated. The latte completely took me by surprise. Since I was ordering a specialty drink, I expected a sweet, fun, treat. What I got was maybe one of the best lattes I've had in Houston...yes, really lol. The latte was perfectly balanced in richness, sweetness, acidity, and body, with the specialty flavoring being very subtle and not at all overpowering.
I am very much looking forward to returning and having another latte here and I can only recommend that you...
Read moreWith a name that emphasizes dough one would expect at least decent pastries/bread unfortunately the butter croissant that I had was cold, hard and clearly been sitting. Mind you I had this in the morning which makes a stale pastry even more puzzling unless they simply can’t be bothered to bake them fresh. Luckily the food and coffee shine when compared to the awful service. The staff was rude and quick to slam the window shut. They seemed confused about the establishment itself and unable to answer the simply question, “is this a bakery”. The barista did not ask my name and it came out with someone else’s order. As I walked to the seating area that is awkwardly positioned on the side of the building an employee almost slammed my body with a door, as the stairs are located next to the door (the only means to reach the seating area) meaning patrons are forced to cross its path. I won’t be returning but thankfully I have no reason to. Segundo, brass tacks, oso and SEVERAL other options in the area offer better food, better coffee and most of all better service. Also the aesthetics of this place feel like I stepped in...
