Do not come and participate in their "Monday Open Play" sessions! I decided to go yesterday (September 14th, to their 8-10pm session) with the boys to play the beautiful game and to check it out as we had not been there before. Upon entering you really do admire the sports establishment's atmosphere that they have created. You'll walk past a nice looking bar that has plenty of picnic tables so you can hang out and relax with your friends. Maybe you're in the mood for some beach volleyball? They have two nice courts besides each other. Maybe you're in the mood for some soccer, or as I like to call it, the beautiful game. Well they have two nice fields that are also beside one another. Overall very nice place as far as appearance. However when it came time to play in their "Open Play" sessions things went completely downhill and it ended in a disappointing experience. I have to say the bartender that was working there serving drinks and providing bracelets so you can participate in the sessions was a pretty cool guy. The people that go there and play during these sessions. Not so much. They're actually dishonest and unjust. To make things worse the "guy in charge" of the sessions gives others the benefit of the doubt even after my team and I told him the results of the games. The first game we "lost" even though we tied. The next game we won. And the last game we "tied" even though we won. But of course everything went against our favor and the guys excuse was "I can't be watching all the games". You make one mistake? That's fine. But two? Come on. You need to have better organization skills and actually keep track of what's going especially if you're the "guy un charge". My friends and I ended up leaving before the session even finished out of frustration and just downright disappointment. I am personally never going back nor would I recommend this place to anyone, unless you want the same thing to...
Read moreWarning to dedicated soccer players: Last time I played here was 3 years ago and conditions have deteriorated significantly. Once you get over the "novelty" of blue fields, within 2 steps on the pitch you'll quickly realize it is in deplorable condition. Less than 1 inch of cheap blue turf sitting on top of concrete (yes there are patches of concrete showing). The turf is not glued down so expect to trip over a piece that comes up every couple minutes. If you want to avoid unnecessary injuries STAY AWAY. Normally I'd talk to management because I hate giving negative reviews to small businesses unless they're absolutely negligent and poor. Evidently the management is here for the money, nothing more which is a shame given it's location and potential. I've played at dozens of fields all over Houston - there are many more facilities who reinvest in their facilities and charge fair prices for the quality you get. Sportscreek isn't one of them. The officiating is reflective of the quality of the field. Again, not something I'd be proud of either based on how many players berate him but I guess a job is a job. One positive is the very misleading blue field marketing. I get the primary goal is to make money. My advice is to make it something anyone would be proud to own, not just the people inside...
Read moreHighly dissatisfied from our visit last night. We reserved a court in advance (by like a week) for $40 and when we showed up, we could find no employees of the court and we found out from players that there is league play Monday- Thursday.
Given that it was the last week of this league, they should know by now not to allow online reservations for the courts at the same time as league play is happening. After waiting 10 minutes, an employee finally let us know about the mix up but offered no real apologies for the inconvenience of all of us coming out. It was also clear they knew ahead of time that they knew we were coming/had a reservation with a conflict, but instead of someone communicating via email/phone that the courts were actually reserved, they let us show up anyway.
The 'consolation' was to offer us a bucket of beer to stay around 2 hours until the courts were available. Unacceptable. We got back our court fee and will not be going back. They need to work on customer service and quality controls of their website.
UPDATE: Taking this place from a 1 to 2 star review after owner got in touch with our coordinator and offered a free session after our trouble. It has potential to be better, but above issues...
