I looked online at the menu before coming here. They had two kinds of burritos. One was like $10 the other was like $12. I also wanted to try two other items. I asked for a menu when I got here so I wouldn't have get my phone out and get back to the website. They said they didn't have a menu.
The only thing I remembered I wanted was a burrito so I asked how much it was. Both girls looked at me completely confused. Then one went to ask some other person. This took like 2-3 minutes. Finally they came back and said a burrito would be 13 something. I was assuming it would be the more expensive burrito I looked at (that was supposed to include avocados) and a bunch of other stuff.
I then got my phone out and pulled up the menu and showed them the 3 meat plate. They initially tried to give me just 2 kinds of meat. I finally asked the one guy who spoke English and he told them to throw some sausage on top of the two meats (not the option I wanted but whatever).
When I got home to eat the burrito I needed to use two hands as it was very greasy and falling apart. Inside was literally just meat and rice. They gave me sour cream and JalapeƱos on the side (and some more rice). No salsa. I didn't ask because another customer told me they ran out ...
Meat and rice isn't a $13 burrito.
It was getting close to 4pm (they close at 4pm but online it says 8pm) so everyone was rushing as if the doors locked at 4pm or something. Usually it's corporate stores that are concerned with closing this precisely. Not sure why they don't just lock the doors at 4 and help who's inside without rushing.
That all being said, the burrito was good (not great). El Rey's right down the street is $10 and much better. Also they stay open until like 12am or later.
This place is good but the hours of operation are goofy, the prices are overpriced, and the online menu isn't accurate. The dude working there was really good besides rushing at the end. No need to rush customers. You're working 5-10 minutes after 4pm?...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hate to give a Ninfa's restaurant 2 stars, but my experience was so terrible today, I have to say something. I ordered the fajita pack, with my mouth watering, and also ordered extra tortillas, a flauta with no lettuce (which should have been served with tomato), extra green sauce, and extra grilled onions. Note that my fajitas were supposed to come with a grilled pepper, also, which is one of my favorite things at El Tiempo. The only thing that tasted like El Tiempo was the refried beans. The rice was pretty good too. The beans were not mashed enough, however, and lacked the smoothness I'm used to at El Tiempo restaurants. The flauta was good, if not completely greasy, which took away from my enjoyment of it, along with the fact that it was missing tomatoes. The fajitas were completely inedible. The beef was gristly, and almost impossible to chew. The chicken was so dry by appearance that I never even tried to eat them. Not only that, both kinds of meat had a weird pink hue to them. The grilled onions in the container with the meat were barely grilled (not cooked enough at all), and the extra grilled onions they gave me were sitting in some weird smelling brown juice, and didn't look fresh - as if they had taken the scraps that were thrown in the side of the grill and given them to me. I was missing red sauce completely, along with the grilled pepper. The only reason I didn't give it one star is because the other food was decent, and the green sauce was excellent. This may be a place to order breakfast tacos from, but I do NOT recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent this morning for the breakfast tacos. Very very busy (great sign) ans very fast paced. It is obvious you need to know what you want or you will hold up the highly efficient process, but 1 big problem, NO MENU, NO pricing, NO signs on any of the food!! So when I finally got to where I could almost see the food qnd someone asked what I wanted, i asked what one thing was, but could not hear the answer then I just asked for bacon egg and cheese taco bc that is always my favorite anyways. I was told they were out bc they were moving on to lunch. When I responded "No bacon at 9am" on a Saturday, they said they could make it for me if I waited, this was the saving grace and why I am giving it 4 stars. I really appreciated it. I think they only had 2other egg options and a line for breakfast out the door. When we went back to get the bacon, egg and cheese they had made a small try and it was going fast :)
The food: Very little bacon in it, but they did make it for me so I was happy I got it. fresh tortillas , very greasy which I usually hate, but honestly they were really good! The cheese was really good, and so was the portion size.
My boyfriend got the carnitas and the flavor was amazing.
The reason I am writing this review is to ask/beg the owners or managers to have some signage that tells the customers the option and prices, with COVID everyone has masks on behind the counter and you can not hear them even...
