Rain on Washington — Restaurant in Houston

I really WANTED and EXPECTED to love the experience (based on prior experience with Krawfish 2 Geaux), but I was sadly disappointed. My bestie and I decided to try them out yesterday after work for their Phat Tuesday Special...we arrived just a bit before 6 p.m. and were seated immediately and our order was taken promptly (even though they technically did not open until 6). The waitress was friendly and did a great job taking the order, however her follow up was horrible....the server that actually brought the food out, rudely "dropped" the pan down on the table and walked away without saying a word to us. We ordered the Mardi Gras platter w/extra snow crab, sausage and potatoes. While the seasoning was on point--everything was cold, the sausage and the shrimp were half cooked AND we never received the additional snow crab we ordered. We even had to ask for butter, extra seasoning, water and napkins! Unfortunately, we had to flag someone else down to ask for those things as our waitress never offered these things and certainly did not come back to see if we needed anything else. By the time we received the butter (we never did get the seasoning), our food was even colder. We voiced our issues and were told that a HOT, fresh pan of everything would be brought out at no charge--well, needless to say, a day later, we are still waiting on that! We ordered drinks from the bar, they were decent, but we had to do too much to get the service that our presence and money should have commanded. Short-staffing is no excuse. Failure to prepare is equal to preparing to fail! There are so many other places we could have gone, but we chose this spot and left wanting much, much more than we received. I’m sorry to report that I didn’t have a good experience here. We had a reservation and weren’t seated until 20 minutes after our reservation time; and that was only because one of us went up to talk to the bar tender about our table. The hostess just stood up in front us by the bar talking while we were right in front of them waiting for our table. We were finally told to just pick our table. There were several things on the menu missing such as asparagus, the hibiscus Paloma, and lobster. It’s bad enough the menu is limited so there is no room to run out of anything honestly. I ordered the dirty bird and it came out luke warm and I could tell the rice was old by the discoloration on the sausage and ground meat. They offered me the side salad since they didn’t have asparagus and it’s not consistent across the board. My friends salad came with cucumbers but mine didn’t. If you’re going to charge $20 for wings, at least put them on an actual plate and not in a basket. The inside of the place is really nice but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Loved everything about this place! Went here with our family on a Saturday! The DJ was 🔥, the food was flavorful (and let me just say the best catfish EVER!) The chef personally came to our table to hear our thoughts on the dishes & obviously we had nothing but great things to say. Drinks & food were delicious and decently priced. The staff had such a great vibe, I wish I would’ve asked their names. Our server was absolutely gorgeous and such a sweetheart. The guys in the kitchen were hilarious. As a Prince fan, the aesthetic of this place will instantly put you in a nostalgic but happy mood - you can tell a lot of thought went into the look and feel for this lounge/restaurant. I have nothing but positive critique for this place. Definitely a great place for grown folks to unwind without all the chaos at some of the other places you...
