Go Hyang Jib Korean restaurant is truly a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Chinatown. It has become my go-to spot for delicious Atka mackerel grilled fish and mouthwatering sashimi on rice dishes. One of the highlights of dining here is the variety of flavorful soups, especially the seafood soup, which never fails to impress.
Having been a loyal patron for the past 15 years, I can attest to the consistent quality of their food. While there may be occasional long waits during busy periods, the enduring kindness of the lady who has been a fixture there for years makes the experience worthwhile.
Her dedication to providing excellent service is truly commendable.Despite the potential for longer wait times, the wait is always worth it as every visit guarantees well-marinated and fresh seafood dishes served in generous portions. Plus, the prices are incredibly reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food offered.
If you're seeking an authentic Korean dining experience hidden within Chinatown, I highly recommend Go Hyang Jib Korean restaurant. Just be prepared to exercise a little patience during peak hours, and you'll be rewarded with an unforgettable...
Read moreWe came here because we saw a promotional video recommended by an influencer, but we were extremely disappointed. I’ve never had Korean food that tasted this bad. The owner is a Western man, and as soon as we walked in, we saw the chef was a Western woman — it already didn’t feel authentic. If you’re not Korean, why pretend to be a Korean restaurant?
Half of the place looks like a restaurant, the other half like a convenience store — it’s totally misleading to customers. Outside the parking lot, there were always a group of men hanging around, which felt unsafe.
We ordered the Jajangmyeon, and it was absolutely not authentic — overly salty, with sauce that wasn’t blended properly. It was basically like soy sauce jelly dumped on noodles. We had no idea what we were even eating.
The grilled beef was all crumbled, just barely edible. The tofu soup had no flavor at all — it tasted like water. The side dishes, especially the kimchi, tasted cheap and low quality — you could tell right away. If I could give 0 out of 10, I would. Even 1 point is too generous.
Don’t waste your time and money at this restaurant that deceives customers...
Read moreI had a long shift and when I got home I was craving jajangmyeon really badly. I decided to Ubereats and came across this restaurant. Unfortunately, I go to Korea frequently and jajangmyeon (more recently ganjajang) is my favorite dish ever since I was a child and so I’ve become quite picky with this seemingly simple dish. For the first time, I was very happy. Although the noodles were sticky (natural after a 70m wait due to the Uber driver getting lost…not the restaurant’s fault at all), the sauce was delicious. Most restaurants will skip out on the tiny pieces of meats but this place included many vegetables and meat. To me, it really was a dish made with love. The restaurant also included banchan (small sides) whereas most restaurants would neglect them for an online order. Noodles and sauce was plentiful. For price, it truly exceeded everything. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the next time I am having a craving, I’ll be visiting this restaurant where I’m sure the flavor will be even more amazing being hot and fresh! Truly a hole in the wall and I’ll be letting my friends know to try...
