I have been to 2 classes so far, and have thoroughly enjoyed both!
The first class I went to was a cool flow class with Janeth. My mom and I went to this on a Wednesday morning, and it ended up being a class of 3. It was a wonderful class. This was both of our first experience taking yoga, and I felt that it was a great introduction. I left with a very light sweat and a relaxed mind. I had the energy and motivation to have a productive day.
The other class I took was a rain class with Sandra. I took this on a Tuesday at 7:30 (also I really appreciate that they have classes after 6, so I actually have a chance to attend after work). This class had about 5 or 6 people. Sandra placed candles around the class and played very relaxing music. Before we started, she asked each person if they were okay if she walked around and touched us to help us get into position throughout class (I felt that was very respectful). This class was not hot, and it was very slow paced, which I believe really helped me to relax. We got into positions and held them for longer than the cool flow class. Throughout, Sandra was very attentive. She made sure to check in and help me adjust when I was struggling (which was a lot lol. It was definitely my second class). She also lightly massaged my back/hips/feet(with a towel over them) as she went. By the time class ended, I was ready to go to bed! I slept significantly more restful after this.
Overall both classes were different, but I feel that they achieved different things. I am super excited to return to Mode 8 for more classes. I will definitely be trying the...
Read moreI am an instructor at Mode 8 Yoga and Fitness. I completed my 200+ hr RYT training last June 2020. I then applied to Mode 8 in October and Christine and all the instructors welcomed me with open and loving arms. Here I have found and created a voice/name for myself, I have found confidence in myself as a leader, and without question constantly being supported/uplifted by everyone (instructors and clients) each step of the way. I would say the studio is definitely my home away from home. Not only do I come into the studio to teach but to also take classes for my own personal practice.. and boy have I improved. Coming from a holistic background when I saw the room had infrared lighting I was so excited. Infrared light not only being so good for your cells and mitochondria it allow my muscles to relax so I find myself melting into each pose a little more each class improving with time. I highly recommend Mode 8 for beginners to advanced. I like to remind people if you can breathe you can do yoga. I promise you will leave the studio feeling better than when you walked in. The community here is beautiful in each...
Read moreThis morning I took Sandra’s 5:30am Cool Flow class. I felt a little nervous going in as in the past when I’ve attended other studios I’ve quickly felt lost in the crowd and have fallen behind with the teachers instructions. It’s been years since I’ve taken a class bc of this very reason. Sandra’s class was exceptional. From the moment I entered the class the environment was warm, calm, and very welcoming. I honestly feel like I could have fallen right back to sleep with how soothing Sandra’s voice was. She verbally directed each pose so well that I could keep my eyes closed and fall right into it without having to look around to make sure I was doing it correctly. She took us to the next pose effortlessly and with perfect timing. I never once felt rushed. She helped us set our intentions for the day, which I needed after a rough week, and I can confidently tell you 10 hours later I truly needed that class and to set those intentions. It was the reset I NEEDED to be a present, calm, loving, and patient mom for the rest...
