Scrumptious Cheesecakes & Bagels — Restaurant in Nassau Bay

I found Scrumptious Houston in the Bay Area Houston circular and was excited to try some of their cheesecakes. My husband wanted a pumpkin cheesecake for his bday and I wanted to try it before I ordered a whole one. It was DELICIOUS! My husband LOVED it and raved about the slice I got him. He said it tasted “homemade, and not too sweet, like a good pumpkin pie”. So, the full cake was ordered and it did not disappoint. The whipped cream on top tasted freshly made, not like cool whip.

While I was getting slices I was intrigued by the Cookie Monster cake and so I got a slice. The Oreo and chips ahoy on top of the chocolate ganache were delicious. I’m not sure what flavor I expected from the blue area but I thought it would be bitter or taste like food coloring but it certainly didn’t. It tasted fluffy, creamy, and sweet but not too sweet with a nice graham cracker crust. It’s one of those cakes that you just have to try because it’s so different especially for people who like Oreo cookies and chips ahoy!

Along with those 2, I also got their strawberry cheesecake and enjoyed that one (I’m not even a big fan of strawberry cheesecake but I sampled it with the pumpkin slice); other amazing flavors I also tried were the turtle cheesecake and a brownie cheesecake swirl (name is probably wrong). I’ll be going back to try the other unique flavors.

I stopped by and ordered a birthday cake. I asked that the cake have cream cheese frosting. I also asked if they could write “Happy Birthday” with the recipients name. The girl that charged me for the cake confirmed that they could do cream cheese icing. She also asked for the correct spelling of the birthday person’s name for the happy birthday wording. My husband picked up the cake a few days later. When he brought it home I immediately realized that they didn’t write anything on it. It was disappointing but we just shrugged our shoulders as it wasn’t worth driving back to their location to fix it. Fast forward to the birthday celebration. When we all took a bite of the cake it was obvious that the icing was a very sweet buttercream and not cream cheese. Since this was a special request from the person for whom the cake was for it turned out to be very disappointing. Two things were requested for the cake and they were both ignored. I work fairly far away and the ladies in my office show me pictures of these decadent desserts every day. I decided to go pick some up on a Friday for our office. I was instructed by ladies in my office to put the the desserts in a seat belt in the front seat since they were such precious cargo. Now, I am a dessert expert and I must say I have never tasted anything quite like these. I do not see how this place is not sold out daily!! They were quite simply the best desserts I have ever had in my life. The banana pudding was not too sweet, cheesecakes made to perfection, and the cakes were soft and full of flavor.
