I normally don’t leave negative reviews but I had such a frustrating experience today at Island Grill for lunch. My colleagues and I ordered food at 11:50M and didn’t receive our food until 12:25pm. We waited nearly 40 minutes for a salad, a kabob plate, and a gyro plate. I understand it’s the lunch rush, but when there’s 7 other tables that arrived 15-20 minutes AFTER you already ordered and sat down that received their food before you, it gets a bit frustrating. My colleague walked up and asked how much longer for our food after we noticed other people getting served before us and they said it was coming out. 10 minutes later I went and asked and they said the same thing “it’s coming out”. I stood and waited at the counter while three more tables (that ordered after us) were served. To top it off, I asked for no mushrooms and was given mushrooms. Thankfully I’m not allergic to them, but can’t imagine if someone was. Just an overall upsetting experience with no friendly or caring service. My colleagues and I come here often but after todays experience we no...

My kids and I have eaten breakfast at Island Grill Bunker Hill for years and have always enjoyed their food. Today was different. I paid $72 for French toast, pancakes, Migas, three soft drinks, and a small smoothie. The smoothie alone cost $8! Talk about sticker shock when I saw the total at the register. We waited over 30 minutes for our food, and it wasn't until I asked the kitchen about it that it was brought out. They still didn't have the Migas ready, and when they finally brought them, it was apparent they had quickly prepared them. The eggs were undercooked and lacked flavor. There were almost no tortilla chips and barely any cheese or tomatoes. The kitchen agreed to make a new plate, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the second attempt was no better. Again, almost no tortilla strips and hardly any cheese or tomatoes. Some of the bacon was dry and overcooked (see photo). We could have gone to IHOP and had a much better meal for half the price. Very disappointing. Please do better,...

EDIT: Came in today for the second chance of giving the island grill. Met the manager personally and exchanged some words on the prior experience. I enjoy the turkey burger a lot here since the first time so really wanted to go again. Tim took care of me and mentioned how he read the review I posted. I took a co worker over and he had a really good experience with the burger he ordered as well. So definitely turned my review on this place. Will continue to come here and enjoy the food.

First time here. Cashier didn’t get order right first time had to post void transaction. Second time didn’t put the right fries in order so my lunch break wasted on waiting for right order of fries to be put. Manager didn’t step up to fix issue or address issue at hand. Even offer apologies. Cashier needs more training and there’s a difference from listening to just hearing your customers. Will try to come back and give second chance. Definitely not recommending this place to fellow co workers...

Meh. I wasn’t impressed. The first thing I noticed upon walking in was the smell. There was a fish odor that was unpleasant. Had I not been meeting someone, I would have walked out. Prices are a little high. $23.57 for a burger (that wasn’t so great), fries and a drink. Actually, the drink was the best part. Since they didn’t have sweet tea, I opted for my next favorite, lemonade. The Roy’s Fresh Lemonade and Sonic type ice was really good. My friend said the Margherita pizza was pretty good, but the honey mustard dressing for her salad was more mustard than honey. She wasn’t very impressed with the lunch either. The seating was a little uncomfortable. The very thin cushioned booth side is elevated higher than the chair side of the table. It made for an strange “taller than the other person” feeling. I expected it would have been a busier place than it was, but maybe others share my feelings on the establishment.

The food was good, with some interesting combinations of ingredients beyond what are typical in pita sandwiches. For example, including sautéed onions and mushrooms is unusual in a gyro, but worked well. The steak pita with Swiss cheese was also very good, and the fries were crispy and well seasoned. It is for these reasons I rated 4 rather than 3. The food seems more Greek-American fusion than authentic Greek, but certainly was tasty. The atmosphere is typical counter-ordering basic. Unfortunately, each time someone opened the front door, the napkins etc went flying around our table (admittedly it was getting a little breezy outside, but patrons enter directly into the dining table area).
