Ever since I came across scalp analysis at a Chicago salon a few years ago, I've been curious about trying it out. Through a serendipitous encounter, I came across LYDIA153Houston. I booked an appointment right away for an initial scalp evaluation. Jina, the scalp specialist, was friendly and pleasant during my first visit. She took the time to explain my scalp situation to me. She is very knowledgeable in not just scalp, but overall health issues as well. I have always had scalp build up problems as well as lots of hair fall throughout my teenage to adult life. It has gotten to the point of my scalp being more visible than I'd like under certain bright lighting. Right after my initial consultation, I was lucky enough to get the Signature Scalp Care service done. I enjoyed all of the massaging components of the service, and all the various processes that went along with it (light therapy, shampoo, nourishing sprays, etc.). I am very sensitive to strong smells, so I was pleasantly surprised that all of the products used had very minimal scent, if any at all. Jina was not pushy in selling the products, but she did recommend the shampoo bar to me. I've spent hundreds of dollars on expensive salon brand hair care all my life, but have yet to find one I like. I end up throwing barely used bottles all away, literally money down the drain. I have never tried a shampoo bar on my hair, so I was skeptical about it. From the first time I used it, I was converted. I like that it suds up quickly and easily, with very minimal scent (natural smelling), and it gets my scalp cleaner than anything I've tried. I also like that it's gentle on my hair. I noticed I had more hair falling out than usual and looked around for options. I came across Lydia153 through an instagram ad and decided to visit even though it’s quite far for me. I booked the “Essential Scalp Care” which was a consultation and treatment. Jina quickly reached out to let me know she’s located inside Sola Salon.

During the consultation, Jina took closeup pictures of my scalp, explained the current condition, and how that affects my hair growth. She explained the science behind it very clearly and recommended products that would work for my concerns. The treatment was so relaxing, I felt like I was in a spa. I loved the cupping massager she used! Jina is a lovely person, very friendly and easy to chat with.

I left feeling refreshed and will definitely be back. I would highly recommend visiting if you have concerns with your hair and scalp health. Your hair gets washed so bring a brush or comb if you’d like to style your hair when you leave.

I’ve used the shampoo bar she recommended and it’s worked really well for my hair. It has a light herbal scent, which is different from every other shampoo, but I really like it. The bar is gentle but lathers well and gets my hair clean. I’ve tried a few shampoo bars and this is the only one that hasn’t left my hair feeling...
