Houston | What I've Been Eating Lately 🍝

The food itself was actually pretty good, but the overall service and experience left a lot to be desired. When we were seated, it took about 10 minutes for our server to approach us. While I try not to focus on appearances, the server’s attire felt a bit inappropriate for a dining environment, with a top that barely covered the essentials. I requested a new glass because the one I received had a visible lipstick stain, which was concerning. After placing our order, the wait for food was noticeably long. I could hear the kitchen bell signaling that food was ready, but our server seemed more engaged in conversation with coworkers than attending to guests. Things only got worse when I visited the restroom. I saw two roaches—one in the dining area and another in the bathroom. The restroom itself looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in days; the sink was especially questionable. In short, while the food was decent, the lack of cleanliness and inattentive service made for a disappointing experience. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

First time here and I'm definitely coming back! Nothing I ate was disappointing, which is rare. Cutely decorated. I love that all the foods were served hot! Spicy Chicken Kara age - Great flavor. Crispy skin. 5/5 Hanetsuki Gyoza - Good flavor. 5/5 Tonkotsu Spicy - Spicy but not overly spicy like on habanero level. Great flavors. It contains cashew pieces. The meat was very, very tender! 5/5 Sesame cucumber - Never had cucumber served like that. It was quite tasty. 5/5 What I found different about this ramen spot is they allow you to customize the soup more than the average ramen restaurant. You change/add the following: Noodle thickness, Noodle texture, Noodle broth, egg type, extra Noodle half portion, more garlicky, and more. Best ramen I've had in all of Houston to date!

Came in around 1:30 this past Saturday and sat at the bar top area. Very cute place! Server is generally polite but seems a little bit overwhelmed so its more of just order taking more than an experience. I ordered the spicy miso vegan ramen with thin noodles and I had an egg. Looked and tasted great. My only issue was that my egg was hard boiled instead of soft and I would have loved more broth. My spoon wasn’t actually able to be used because there was more contents than broth. I did let the server know and asked if I could have more broth. He replied that the chef usually says no but said that he was ask. Came back out and said, “yeah he said it’s going to be $10.” Of course I politely declined and just enjoyed my meal for what it was. $10 for extra broth on a $14.50 bowl of ramen?? Hmm

I get that they are just starting up and of course will have kinks to work out in these beginning months so I do hope my feedback finds the owners/staff well. I probably won’t return for a while but I wish all the best and they have so much potential!!

Sn: One of the guys that ran a bowl while I was there did stop by and ask how everything was. He also said that if I did have any issues, to please notify him immediately. I really appreciate the concern and openness to feedback. Very nice. I’m pretty sure he was a chef, if not apart...

I recently tried a newly opened Japanese ramen restaurant, and my dining experience was extremely disappointing.

Firstly, the service attitude was very unsatisfactory. While we were still eating, the server started cleaning the table next to us and used a strong cleaning spray that ended up on our table, seriously disrupting our dining environment. This not only interrupted our meal but also made us feel very uncomfortable.

The server initially suggested that they could remake our dishes as compensation, but what was frustrating was that the owner said they were too busy to remake anything and simply told us we could leave without paying. This handling of the situation was clearly irresponsible, as it did not provide a reasonable solution or compensation, and was just a quick way to brush us off.

As a newly opened restaurant, they should pay more attention to customer experience and service quality. It is disappointing to see them handle customer issues so poorly. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend...
