Overall, the food, drinks, and music at La Cabana are fantastic—my family and I have enjoyed many visits there. However, my recent birthday celebration took a shocking and humiliating turn. While the waiter was bringing out the “cake” to sing Happy Birthday, he unexpectedly smashed a napkin full of whipped cream into my face. What should have been a joyful moment quickly became an uncomfortable and humiliating experience, as I was essentially assaulted in front of a room full of strangers.
When I expressed my upset to the manager, he informed me that this act was a restaurant tradition for birthdays, involving putting whipped cream on guests' faces without their permission or consent. I clarified that not only was this done without my consent, but it also involved physically shoving the whipped cream into my face, which I found highly inappropriate and offensive.
Unfortunately, I did not receive an apology or even a hint of empathy from the manager. Instead, I was dismissed, with no acknowledgment of how upsetting this experience was. I am deeply disheartened and mortified by the restaurant’s apparent disregard for its patrons' dignity and their willingness to condone such behavior. This incident left me feeling devalued and humiliated, especially as a woman subjected to such treatment in a...
Read moreVery nice people at the restaurant but LAWD THE FOOD WAS GARBAGE. I go to get sum carne GUISADA tacos just to get a group of dry carne asada tacos. The gravy I was hoping for was non existent and lacked flavor. Tbh if I could put negative stars I would. I would NEVER go back to this place for anything. The salsa taste like water with tomato chunks and the tortillas tasted store bought. Just overall a disappointment on the food aspect. The gravy was literally non existent like I said I asked for a carne guisada and was giving about TWO DROPS OF GRAVY on each taco asked for cheese no cheese. The only good thing I can probably take away from this experience was the fact that it was warm and fresh with even the chips being warm. Idk if this all happened because I took my food to go but this overall was a horrible experience that I would never repeat till the day I pass. This food didn’t even cure me of being hungry it was over just horrible. If you are reading this review thinking about coming here I’ll let it be know there are many other different options, options with actual FLAVOR. I spent about 18 dollars for three disappointing tacos with sum chips on the side. PLEASE CHOOES SOMEWHERE ELSE I PROMISE THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS. Again very nice people but...
Read moreI'm updating my review. Years ago La Cabana was great. I'd suggest it to anyone wanting good food and margaritas. Over the past six years, the quality of the food/drinks has steadily gone downhill. The last time I went, I spent $25 (before the tip) for a house margarita and chicken enchiladas. Since I wasn't that hungry, I took my leftovers to go. While reheating them the next day, I realized the corn tortillas were rolled big to make it appear as though it was full of chicken when, in fact, they only had about a tablespoon of chicken a piece. I wanted to let the owner know what I found (and let him know the margaritas have changed to very expensive lemonade). For two weeks, I called multiple times to try to speak to the owner. A woman who claimed to be the manager continually made excuses as to why I could not speak to the owner until I finally gave up. **I say, "claimed to be the manager" because her excuse for inflating the corn tortillas was because they "pay $11 a pound for chicken" and "no one else has complained about" the change in the margaritas. They've also changed the chips they serve to ones with zero taste that look like overprocessed, fried...
