We were excited to try lulus for Mother’s Day lunch, however we were very disappointed. We figured after brunch time it would be less chaotic which it was but service was horrible. Our waitress did not know the menu very well when we asked about certain items and she would take a very long time to check on us when the restaurant was not even busy. We over heard her tell the couple next to us that they were out of burrata so my husband ordered the bruschetta but she said that they were out of that so I asked if it was the burrata that they were out of or the bruschetta and she was confused and had to go ask. She didn’t come back for awhile which seem to be the common theme with her. At this point I thought about leaving before we even ordered but I was so excited to try the food. So I decided to stay. Then when she did happen to come back I ordered a drink and after being gone for awhile and then coming back to take our order I asked about my drink and she looked confused once again and blamed the bartender. Now it was not busy when we went in but how do you disappear so many times and always not remember what we needed. When our food did come it was cold and my husbands chicken was dry. We didnt bother telling her because we couldn’t find her and decided that it wasn’t worth complaining at this point. So my my husband decided to order a drink and once again she disappeared and when she reappeared she said that it was the bartenders fault once again. Not only that when I took my daughter to the restroom there was urine all over the toilet. I would not recommend this place to anyone else nor will we...

I live in the área and have driven by many times thinking I need to try this place sometime. It looks nice, quaint, and romantic. My husband and I decided to stop in for appetizers and drinks. The atmosphere was great, the manager and waitstaff were great but we were a bit disappointed with our food. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese board with bread basket. The food was good but just ordinary nothing spectacular. It was plain salami and either jamón serrano, prosciutto or jamón ibérico. It came with three different cheeses a little dalop of honey mustard and it was supposed to come with fruit compote and bread. We ordered a bread basket so they didn’t bring bread with the charcuterie until I mentioned it but it was the same kind of bread as the bread basket. The bread basket was $5 and nothing spectacular. I told our waiter which I think was also the manager that we did not get the fruit campote that was on the menu and he apologized. He brought us a little bowl of what seemed to be previously frozen grapes . What I know of campote is that it is a fruit sauce. The food was good but it was something I could have made at home but my ingredients/ food would’ve been of higher quality. I also asked for a plate of basil leaves to add to the taste of the meat and cheese. The atmosphere was great and the employees were very nice. The drinks were also tasty. I don’t know that I will go again ..I don’t want to pay a high price for something I can make at home. The place sure is...

We have been here several times and have always had a good experience until Sunday evening. A very light crowd and not busy at all yet our waiter was still missing. He was dismissive from the start. When our food came out, he set our food down and quickly walked away. I had to ask the other very attentive waiter for cracked pepper and a little extra dressing. Our waiter I guess thought I asked for salt so he came back and quickly put only the salt shaker down and walked away. He went to the bathroom at least 4 times while we were there and was in there about 10 minutes each time. I don’t believe he was actually going to the bathroom but maybe doing something else. His whole demeanor rubbed me the wrong way and even when he was walking to/from the restroom he never stopped to see if we needed anything. We always had to ask the other waiter. “D” is not a good waiter at all. I do not care to return after this experience. Also, I had 2 bites of my salad (that I ordered as my entree) and did not like the anchovies and was not noted on the menu nor did he ask if I wanted anchovies or not. The flavor was incredibly salty and bitter so I did not eat it. He didn’t even notice that I wasn’t eating my salad or ask if everything was ok. My husband really enjoyed his entree. The dessert was also delicious. But the...

The restaurant has a Rustic Mediterranean feel. The food is Italian Mediterranean and is Ok! I ordered the lobster roll. It came with a garden salad before the main course, that contained undercooked potato’s and then an additional unusual salad with the sandwich (why 2 salads?). The lobster roll was a skimpy portion, warm lobster salad mix with a tomato sauce! I was surprised when it arrived because I specifically asked the waiter to describe it and I specifically asked if it was with mayonnaise and cold, which the waiters described and nodded his head. Overall It was OK, but not what I was expecting. Altogether it was $50 with tip and I feel the meal was not a good value.

Lulu’s is an adorable Italian-style restaurant with a very sophisticated menu and offerings located in River Oaks area. We started with the Bread Service and Calamari Frito. I really enjoyed the fried banana peppers that’s mixed within the Calamari Frito. I had the Lobster Risotto. My dining companions had a fish, that I forgot to verify what type, and black angus tenderloin. Everything was flavorful and delicious although my lobster was a little on the dry, less tender side of things it was still enjoyable. We enjoyed espresso martinis, gelato, and Spanish Basque cheesecake. It was all very tasting and pleasing.
