I live 35 mins from the restaurant and had it on my list to try. So, after just getting off of a 12 hour shift and getting my kids to school, I ordered online at 10:13 am, but the restaurant didnāt open until 11 am. That was fine.
I pulled up around 10:50 and waited in my car until they opened. I walked in at 11:03 and there was a person ahead of me in line. When it was my turn, I told the lady that I was picking up an order. She stated she didnāt have any orders. She asked if I ordered online and I said yes. She said sorry maāam but we donāt have any orders, you have to call. So I asked, āYou guys donāt take online orders?ā She shook her head no but said yes we do.ā Then she said, ābut you have to call.ā Lol, I said well if I have to call, then you guys donāt take online orders. She just shook her head no and said we donāt have an order let me take it. I ordered the lobster roll, lobster bisque and whoopi pie. I asked if my lobster would be hot, she said we put mayo on it so normally we donāt make the lobster hot, but I can still make the lobster hot. I said yes please. Keep everything the same just make my lobster warm or hot. I retrieved my food and went outside to try it before I pulled off.
I tried the lobster bisque first and oh my. Itās not good at all. If you are a person that enjoys bland, no salt, no flavor food, you would love it. However, I am a southern Louisiana/ New Orleans girl and I believe food must have flavor! Not salty or spicy, flavor! That bisque was super thick with maybe two pieces of small chopped lobster and absolutely no flavor. It was also lukewarm to cold. No thank you. So I went to the lobster roll and it was only lobster meat and bread. Thatās it. Nothing on it. I took it back inside and told the lady to just make it as they would normally make it, because it has nothing on it. I only asked for the lobster to be warm instead of cold. The cook made the sandwich and the lady gave it to me. I went back to the car and tried the roll. Flavorless. The ONLY part of the meal that taste good is the bread! If I just had to order again, all I would order is bread. I understand we all have different palettes and depending on your upbringing, we are all use to different flavors of food, but I am convinced more than ever, that most people from southern Louisiana have very high expectations when it comes to the flavor of food. This food has no flavor. The red velvet whoopie pie was good. Please try it for yourself and make your own decision, but itās...

I should have taken a picture side by side with my hand because itās the size of my hand and Iām a little 5ā1 woman. Really small for a regular. And the large is $32 I am so glad I didnāt DoorDash the $32 roll. What would that have gotten me 5 oz of meat?
Honestly, I was looking forward to ordering from them for so long now. I was deeply disappointed. I am from East coast originally so I know how a lobster roll should be.
To begin with, The lobster was fresh. Iāve read other reviews that said it had no flavor but in my opinion it had that fresh lobster flavor. It just didnāt have that Cajun flavor maybe Texans are used to with our crawfish and other things. So Flavor wise I did enjoy the quality of lobster they used. It was decently made. But my big beef is that they give you so little!
Hardly much Meat! :( Like it was a bun that was barely cut in half with maybe 3oz of lobster? I ordered a large side of mac & cheese too. The portions were good for the Mac & cheese and it was well made. So I will give them a star for that. Because I do feel they were fair with the mac & cheese.
But the lobster roll, the main attraction, $16 for almost nothing! When you skimp out on your customers the word will get out you know. Maybe if it wasnāt a DoorDash order you would have filled up the roll better. Because I canāt see any customer paying $16 and walking away with this āhardly any meat sand-whichā .
I get lobster is expensive and that's why I don't mind paying for the expense ($16 a sandwich) but it was tiny and really disgraceful how deceptively small the roll was with hardly any meat.
You are paying $16 for bread. Do better guys, I want your business to last because we don't have anything like this in Texas, hence why I was looking forward to your restaurant but with bad business practices like this, I can't see returning.
Seriously, no meat! Do better by your customers. This was not worth the price. Cut the price in half if you want to call...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been a go to comfort food of mine since I first got to Houston. After one of the floods a few years ago, they came to bring me delivery in upper Kirby in my office when the whole city was still closed. One of their locations had had water get in and they were still going. Years later I go as often as I can and I would implore people to understand that the market price of lobster isnāt cheap and the product is amazing. If you are a lobster lover- their rolls are perfectly dressed and always on point. Iāve traveled to New England for work and the price is not abnormal for where we are and what these rolls are. If you think theyāre expensive try some of their Deli Sandwiches - they are bomb! My husband is a big fan of their bread and as am I- if you ask nicely theyāll sell you just the rolls and weāve done picnics with our faves. The Bisque is also lovely and so is the chowder. The people that run it are super sweet; I have never had a bad experience there. They have these little Whoopi pies and saltwater taffy available- so I guess maybe this place just has everything I love in one establishment but I can say Iāve tried other locations too and other rolls because of them. Iāve never taken anyone that didnāt love it there- some people complain about price but occasionally itās nice to splurge a bit on...
