I just left this place and I was NOT Impressed.
It was about a 45min wait for seating for 1 person (myself), which I did not mind, but they did have a section that was not seated due to a large "Reservation". Their page states they do not accept reservations. And to that, I Did Mind, but oh well.
About 10min wait for a drink order, they were busy, that's fine. I placed my drink and appetizer order at the same time. The wait to get my beverage wasn't very long and Asia took my main entrée order when she dropped off my beverage(Jolly Rancher).
35 minutes later, the Main entree hits the table before the appetizer. So when the runner asked if there was anything else, I let her know about it and she asked if she would like me to have her check on it. Of course I would, to see if it's even worth me still getting. The half dozen grilled oysters came out not even 5mins later.
For my Main entree I ordered King Crab Legs, an order of potatoes, 2 corn, and 2 boiled eggs in the Zaddy sauce, Spicy. I was missing a boiled egg.
There was no set up - i.e. extra bowl for scraps, no silverware for the oysters as they were still stuck to the shell, and no crackers for the King Crab Legs. So I started on the oysters hoping to catch my waitress Asia so I could get these missing items.
20 more minutes have gone by and Asia finally comes back to the table for a table touch/check up. I informed her quietly and professionally of my all-around displeasure of my visit and asked for the check.
I did not get to taste the King Crab Legs as there were no crackers and those are spiny. The flavor and heat level was okay, but nothing memorable and very, very oily.
Asia was a polite enough server, but unfortunately fell short on attentiveness. As were all of the servers that I observed in close proximity.
All in all, $133 spent on dinner for one, for King Crab legs that I never got to eat(no crackers, no server, and cold by the time of table touch), and could not take with me since I was passing through. Missing food item, and very oily boil mixture.
No discount of any type was offered after the feedback of lackluster food and service, and yes, I still paid the full check, because hey, they still made it. Oh well.
I am very disappointed in how things turned out which was a waste of time and money, and will not need to revisit or...
Read moreHey duders! Crawfish season is coming soon and Spring Branch just gots us a new Seafood Shop - CLAWDADDY . It's on Silber by El Pollo Loco and Jimmy John's. Today is their grand opening.
I stopped in and got some grub. Again, not an ideal place to go alone. Who wants to do a seafood boil for one? Lame. Soze I just got some appetizers.
Started off with The Longhorn. It's a bacon-wrapped boudin sausage. Ummm...how is one to saying this? Uhhhh.... Someone might wanna remind the chef that you eat with your eyes first and this dish couldn't help but remind me of something - The Geoduck, which is certainly delishes but happens to look just like a big ole floppy dong in it's natural state. Which is why you don't just grab a whole geoduck and throw it on a plate as is. Best case scenario it lands in front of a person of highly suspect morals that goes to town on it like it's a Saturday night and the bar just threw them out OR, far more likely, is that it ends up in front of a guy that was young once and desperately needed money and has spent the intervening decades trying to forget some questionable decisions made in truck stop bathrooms. Uhhhh...a guy that is TOTALLY NOT Kyle.
Next up was the Shrimp Diablo. 8 bacon-wrapped Skrimp with Jalapenos. Excellent.
Then I finished things up with the Clawdaddy Charbroiled Oysters, topped with truffle parm, mozzarella, Clawdaddy sauce (a garlic butter) and parsley. Served with garlic toast. They were good, but I woulda dialed back the mozz a bit.
For dessert I went out and watched the Lion Dancers from Soaring Phoenix Dragon & Lion Dance Assoc. They were awesome and all in all a great way to start my morning.
Before I left I stopped and chatted with a table of Branchachos that spotted me out in the wild. Hey, y'all!👋
I'm definitely coming back and bring troops so we can get a dirty, spicy proper boil some time! I wanna try the...
Read moreLooking for a good crab boil place that also had other local Houston flavors. Came here and it has a rather fun interior with bar seating, regular seating, and booth seating. Televisions all over the place where you can catch a game or two. We ordered a whole bunch of different things: fried rice- evidently this place has some Vietnamese/Asian influence. The dish was light compared to all the fried and heavy seafood we ordered. The flavor was addicting! Not overly oily. It was good. Longhorn boudin. They were crunchy, boudin inside was really good. Not too greasy. They were pretty good as well with their clawdaddy sauce! Noodles with snow crab cluster, gave us alittle work to eat, but not oily at all. Meaty. Good flavors. They were good. Rockefeller oysters- Extremely hot when it first comes out. Great seasoning on top of them. It was in a garlic butter. It tasted amazing. Cooked well. These were also really good. Hot Cheetos soft crab: Soft shell crab with truffle fries- fries were really good. Soft, crunchy, salty. They were great!! The soft shell crab was really good too. Fried well. Crunchy. The flavors were great. It was really good. My fave! Snow crab legs- sold in clusters. Which is basically half the legs of a crab. Decent pricing. The sauce tasted amazing. Overall food was amazing! Customer service was amazing!!! Love them so much Definitely coming back!!! This place deserves a...
