McDonald's — Restaurant in Houston

Tonight was the last straw it's the management for me, My girlfriend and I go to this McDonald's atleast three times a week and easily spend between 30- 50 dollars a week. Even on the days that we don't order food we still might order softdrinks. We usually go to this location between 5-7pm, usually the customer service is great and the food is just as good. Recently the customer service has been poor to say the least. This location has been struggling to get my order right lately they've tried to give me medium fries when I ordered to medium Sprite (Softdrinks). They may have been out of sweet iced tea I don't know but my girlfriend said that her iced tea tastes funny like they used sweet coffee creamer instead of what they usually used when they made their sweet tea, unfortunately my girlfriend didn't discover this until she tried her drink when we got back to the house. Today I used the McDonald's app I Ordered the 20pc McNuggets bundle that comes with a 20 PC order of chicken nuggets and a basket of fries. I finished our order with two medium Sprite's. The man at the second window and the employee tried to rush me away without giving us our drinks, I noticed that the usual box wasn't in there when asked about it he said that they gave me 2 10pc McNuggets instead. I pulled over and was disappointed to see that they gave me spicy chicken nuggets. My girlfriend and I went back through the drive through and the Man at the second window was a problem again I explained to him that he gave me spicy chicken nuggets which I didn't ask for he spoke broken English and I guess he didn't understand so he called his shift manager and I explained to her what happened first she asked me for my receipt and it still felt like there was a communication problem so I presented her with a 10 PC spicy McNuggets box that I was given at that time the manager demanded the other 10pc spicy McNuggets box I felt away about her doing that like I was trying to cheat McDonald's out of something, the truth is that they should have gifted us the spicy chicken nuggets for messing up on our order. My girlfriend and I can't really eat spicy food because we both have gastric reflux all we wanted is what they owed us. Although we are not food critics my girlfriend and I are valued customers. For this reason on top of the fact that there are two more locations on that same strip they should have done more to make sure that we left them as happy customers. I don't do a review unless I feel passionate about it my last review was for a restaurant that I was a first time customer, the service and the food was so great that I promised the manager that review has gotten over 1000 views and I'm sure that it's brought them some business. If I do decide to be a McDonald's customer moving forward I will not be returning to that location, and I other customer's to go to another location or keep their money in...

Updated May 2025: I added 2 stars for a total of 5. Originally, this place deserved at least 4 stars, but I know I used to be more conservative with stars. This McDonald's is still the best location compared to Westheimer near Beltway 8, Westheimer near Voss Rd., Fondren at Westpark, Wilcrest at Briar Forest, I-10 at Echo lane, and I-10 at Chimney Rock (but Chimney Rock earns 2nd place). The staff have changed several times and my original comments remain true.

Regarding the Iced Coffees, I learned that McDonald's changed the coffee and changed the recipe in 2023. I don't order it anymore.

Updated February 2023: in the past few months, for some reason, the caramel iced coffee never comes out cold and sweet. I go to many McDonalds locations all across Houston. This particular location has given me warm iced coffees that don't taste like they have enough caramel, even when I give specific instructions for number of pumps of caramel.

Original: I have been a regular customer of this location for over a year. I was pregnant throughout most of 2021 and came here almost daily, sometimes 2 or more times a day. In 2022, I come less frequently but still quite often. Almost always, I use the drive thru.

I really like the staff here. Everyone I have ever interacted with at this location has been kind, courteous and helpful.

Someone prepares packages of utensils and condiments for breakfast hotcake orders so pickup is quick and I'm sure to have butter, syrup, knife and fork. Other McDonald's I visit don't do this, so I am glad this location prepares ahead.

The food here is good. This location has the normal amount of inconsistency for a McDonalds. For example, the salt level of the french fries and the sweetness of the iced caramel coffee varies daily. If I don't like something, I ask them politely to remake it, and they remake it with a smile.

I'm not even going to share pictures I DARE you to go for yourself. The men's bathroom is always dirty to occupied with only 1 stall. Literally has been multiple occasions where I myself had to grab napkins because staff is to prejudiced to care soap dispensary broke. I've seen shelters as in homeless shelters with more sympathy better maintenance. The employees are rude to the only people that speak the native tongue are managers or obvious citizens. The PROJECTIONS OF Bigotry IS RIDICULOUS they'll kick out handicaps that have bought stuff because discrimination is what this McDonald's is ALL about. The drink station has been "broken" for easily more than 3-4 months. Exactly, that means you have to get up go ask for a refill so kiss that hot meal goodbye to which takes anywhere 5-10 minutes FOR A SINGLE REFILL 15 minutes. I WAS A regular not anymore place makes me sick. One guy once waited 30 minutes for a refill they're busy because they have excuses it's McDonald's. The food is poorly mishandled sloppy, rushed have no allergies, better double check before you sit down and triple check before you leave drive-thru good luck drive my Tesla else places Model 3. They treat themself as Chick-fil-A without any of the empathy to hospitality! This is Texas HOME of SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY. They took out/sealed the electric outages to finally decided to cut off the wifi a sham place McDonald's BANDITS. You got to use your DATA wifi to eat at a McDonald's that can't even be bothered to smile and I KNOW McDonald's phrase is to smile not at this one they the exception to the rule. Little back story of myself, I been going to this McDonald's since their was a church inplace where the Teslas factory/ LA fitness. I've lived in this area for about 15years it's main focused is to get rid of anyone that doesn't fit their standards discrimination. The no shoes no shirts no poors policy is in full effect.
