Native Coffee, a charming local cafe known for its exceptional baristas and quality beverages, offers a pleasant experience with a few areas for improvement. The cafe itself exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for both coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors looking for a cozy place to unwind.

The baristas at Native Coffee are undoubtedly the highlight of the establishment. They are not only skilled in their craft, producing excellent coffee with consistency, but also bring a level of enthusiasm and friendliness that significantly enhances the overall experience. Their expertise is especially evident in the double shot espresso, which was nothing short of fantastic. The rich, robust flavors were perfectly extracted, offering a smooth and invigorating experience that would please any coffee lover.

Another commendable aspect of Native Coffee is its food offerings. The overnight oats are a particular standout, combining healthiness and flavor in a satisfying way. They strike the perfect balance of texture and taste, making for a delightful and nutritious breakfast or snack option. The pastries also deserve a mention; each item is fresh, well-made, and delicious, adding to the array of options for a light bite alongside your coffee.

However, the experience was slightly marred by an encounter with a cashier who seemed less than friendly. This older lady appeared to be disinterested and not particularly welcoming, which was in stark contrast to the otherwise excellent customer service. While this did not ruin the overall experience, it was a noticeable deviation from the warmth and friendliness exhibited by the rest of the staff.

In light of this, it seems there is room for improvement in staff selection and training. Ensuring that all team members, not just the baristas, are aligned in providing a welcoming and positive experience is crucial for maintaining the high standards that Native Coffee is capable of offering.

In conclusion, Native Coffee remains a delightful destination for high-quality coffee and tasty eats. The skill of the baristas and the quality of the food are significant draws. However, attention to staff demeanor and customer interaction across the board could elevate the experience from good to exceptional. Despite the small hiccup, Native Coffee is certainly worth a visit for anyone seeking a good cup of coffee in a...

Quaint little coffee shop near Montrose and the fourth ward. It's a little easy to miss while driving as it's in between two other buildings, but look for the large banner (pictured) with Native Coffee logo on the black fence decorated in vines. Parking is also a little tricky. You go slightly past the coffee shop and turn right at the mechanic/body shop. There's free parking in that large parking lot on the right, despite the parking signs threatening to be towed (confirmed by the employee at Native Coffee). Once you walk in, there's a beautiful patio and inside you'll find a clean, small coffee shop that looks newly renovated. The worker was great and I think I might have spotted the owner in the back working on sandwiches. They have a great menu but went basic and got my usual ice vanilla latte. There's roughly 15 tables and plenty of space when I visited. Only downside is that there were only a few outlets I could spot, but not an issue while I was there. Looked like they had a lot of customers from the neighborhood and a few from the car shop.

Although the shop itself has a wonderful atmosphere, and it could be a truly hidden gem in Houston’s overrun coffee shop world, it is the staff that takes away from its magic. I went for a quick coffee and wanted to get a couple hours of work done. Unfortunately, the WiFi is non-existent, which makes it extremely tough to utilize the shop for productive purposes. I noticed they had a secondary network, and asked kindly if I could join it since the other network is extremely slow and cannot support the softwares I use daily for my work. Although I understand not wanting to give out a secondary network for the purpose of equality to all customers (I.e if we were to allow you, we would have to allow everyone), it can be communicated in a professional manner. Instead, I was brushed off and told “nope” without any hesitation. It was a cold interaction.

As a frequent coffee shop connoisseur, a minute piece of advice would be to ensure we have robust WiFi connection since lots of people utilize coffee shops for...

Coffee: pretty standard coffee, but not bad at all! I got an iced mocha latte and it was good. Sandwich: these people have extremely unique sandwich options that seem to change frequently. I got The Richmond, and it had toppings like chicken, crispy jalapeño, and green apple slices. I know it sounds weird but it was amazing. 10/10 recommend. Service: the lady working the counter was friendly and helpful! They seem super nice. Atmosphere: outside, the seating is beautiful with lots of plants, but it isn’t a great place to sit in the peak summer heat. Also, there is a car shop sharing a wall with them, so I heard a lot of drilling and hammering. Their music choice is very much pop top 100, such as passion fruit by drake, sza, etc. Inside, it’s pretty dull and grey. There is some nice decor and they have good AC, but other than that it wasn’t that cozy. Overall, it was a 6/10! I would stop by here to grab a lunch or coffee, or maybe sit here on a cooler day.
