If you've ever thought this bar might be worth going to after an ass-kicking handed out to Boston at Minute Maid, then think again! It's only worth it if you're a long time fan of standing with your drink in your hand while mildly participating in what I call "Twitch: Before the Stream" I give it 5 stars because it brought back some nostalgia that I hadnt felt since I heard Milli Vanilli on the radio. I thought to myself, "yeah the presentation doesn't match the actual experience but..... as long as we are pandering we might as well milk it!" just like Milli Vanilli. That should be the name of this bar. Oh, the bartender we had was able to sell drinks and collect money so that part was genuine.... and even though I'm not a Bud Light fan, they don't have it. So enjoy your "Stella Artois" or whatever you need to say to fit in at this square of a circle jerk barcade fire. Nah, I'm just playin.... It's Neil's parents basement. It's pretty dope they let him stay up and have friends over. I would go here again if they bring out some pizza rolls and let us watch Captain Planet but only after they get new furniture from Goodwill. I took all the good stuff yesterday so, unfortunately, you might have to wait a couple of weeks Mr....
Read moreWhen my wife, my friend and I were doing research in places to go in Houston especially with my wife and I being huge gamers and huge nerds Neil's Bahr was one of the places that was recommended to us. We were definitely not disappointed . My wife and I are not really bar people but the the biggest thing I do appreciate about the place is how much it felt like being at a really great house party at a friends house. There are plenty of things to do with regards to your personal interests. There are plenty of video games to play and board games to indulge in. There is definitely something in the bar that will cater to your nostalgia. More importantly, it was nice to be in a place where you could have a conversation and everybody that seemed to be there was genuinely positive and incredibly welcoming. Major respect to the bar staff for being incredibly friendly and accommodating and giving great recommendations for a bunch of Canadians that have little to no experience when it comes to American alcohol. They were even nice enough to give us a list of great places to visit in Houston during the rest of our vacation there. Hope to visit one last time before our...
Read moreWhile the bar itself is amazing and makes you feel like you're in your friends basement to hang out, It's not a safe area. There are about 7 parking spaces up front and then there is a parking lot right accross where we saw to people getting into a fight. They dont have cameras there and they don't consider it their area to watch over even though there is nowhere else to park. There are crack heads all over the area who will try to scam you into paying them for parking then just walk off and then my friends car got broken into along with two others. While we were trying to figure it out there was endless cat calling from guys going to the bar and crackheads watching and following us. We asked neils bar about security cameras and they just told us not to park there next time and just that yeah there are crack heads there. Bar tenders were chill in terms of serving but the security guard payed no attention. Not a great place to go if you...
