i have been to slowpokes a few times now, the coffee is great, and it is such a cute place! i really enjoy that they have food options too, and their food is consistently very good.
overall i really enjoy this place. however, the first time that i came i spent over $30 on food and drinks for myself and my partner, and we had planned to stay for a while and get some work done together. when we sat down to connect to the wifi, we found out we needed a receipt. went back to the cashier, and ended up having to buy something else in order to get a receipt. then, we found we could only connect for 2 hours. to be proactive, at about an hour in we bought a pastry to be able to easily connect to the wifi again when we ran out. but we were unaware that you cannot add to your existing time, you have to wait for it to run out completely, but you can also only redeem your receipt for wifi within 45 minutes of purchase. that had passed, so we could not connect to the wifi any longer.
i do understand that internet is expensive, and i can imagine that it is frustrating to have people come into a businesses and use their services, like internet, without paying. and i know that this probably happens in coffee shops more than i am aware of. but i feel like there should be some explanation at least as to how the policy works when you checkout--or some signage somewhere--as many people DO come to coffee shops to work and DO pay, just to sit down with the intention to work and possibly not have had a receipt printed. it is a strange policy that i haven't encountered anywhere else, and felt especially strange when coffee shops are known to be places for people to linger. and with a name like slowpokes, you would think that they had an idea of that. i also felt very put off by the owners rude response to some people questioning the policy in...

My partner and I frequent Slowpokes Coffee Shop almost every weekend, and it has become our cherished ritual. We're absolutely in love with the place and intend to keep this tradition alive.
The Vibe: One of the biggest draws for us is the incredible vibe and ambiance of the shop. It's a place where the hustle of daily life seems to pause, allowing for a moment of tranquility with a delicious cup of coffee in hand. The staff, in general, add to this relaxed atmosphere with their friendly and welcoming demeanors.
Quality and Selection: The coffee here is consistently excellent, with a wide range of flavors and types to choose from. Whether you're a fan of classic espresso or adventurous with your latte flavors, there's something for everyone.
A Small Area for Improvement: There's only one minor aspect that we hope sees improvement. One of the team members, likely under the pressure of rush hours, tends to mix up orders occasionally. For instance, this past Sunday at 8:45 AM, I received an iced coffee instead of the hot one I ordered. While speed is appreciated, accuracy is crucial too. It's a small oversight, but we believe paying a bit more attention to order details would enhance the already great experience. I only mention because with this employee, we kind of expect some sort of mistake or coffee quality issue because it happens to frequently.
Final Thoughts: Despite this minor hiccup, our affection for Slowpokes Coffee Shop hasn't waned. The warmth and charm of this place, coupled with the quality of the coffee, make it a five-star experience for us. We look forward to many more weekend...
Read moreMy first time coming here was a nice experience, the staff was super friendly, the only set back was the baked goods. My sister and I got 2 cake bites and they both tasted like they've been refrigerated for days and just tasted old. I went back and told them we wanted something else and they said we could get anything from the bakery goods from the display to make up for it. I looked around and wanted 2 of their danishes but as soon as they opened to grab the danishes, tons of fruit flies started to fly around. When I saw that, I told them never mind and that I'll just take a cinnamon roll since it's in a container. This was 3 weeks ago and the staff was super nice taking care of us.
Now, we came back today and we really wanted croissants from the display but there were fruit flies yet again and were disappointed. We had to get a cinnamon roll yet again. As always, their staff is friendly but I dont recommend people eating from the display. I wonder if they even clean it or care about having fruit flies in there. It's disgusting and unsanitary.
November 8, 2022: Thank you for your reply! I came to Slowpokes to treat myself for a coffe and a banana nut muffin after work but once again there were fruit flies in the display :(! The cashier was nice but she put the muffin back instead of throwing it away. It sucks that this was my go to place on my way home from work and now I'll have to go somewhere to grab both my coffee and treat. I love yalls coffee but I'd rather stop at one place to get both items...
