My husband and I have been going to 8th Wonder for several years. When we started going to 8th Wonder the beer selection was great. Fast forward to now the beer selection has decreased and they are always out of certain beers on tap and the 6-packs. They always filled growlers for customers which was great when they don’t have the 6-packs in stock. Well last week we brought in our growlers because they have not had the beer we like in 6-packs in weeks. I asked the Manager if they still filled the growlers and she said yes so by the time we decided to leave after we struggled with the heat and no AC I went up to get them filled. The bartender started to fill them when the GM stopped him and told him not to do that again mind you I had asked the manager is they still did that. Typically we would have bought a six pack but they haven’t canned any for weeks maybe months. I feel he could have waited until we paid and left to tell his bartender that going forward they should fill growlers. We continue to come to 8th wonder because of the great bartenders like Tyler, Jhonny, Bryce, Thomas, Ana and Harvey they give great customer service and the taproom manager that is always cleaning and making sure the place looks great and also makes sure all the clients are happy. They recently added mixed drinks and as regulars we noticed no menus or drink options were created so there was really no way of knowing what they were serving or that they were now serving mixed drinks. The AC has also been broken for 3 weeks and it is very uncomfortable...
Read moreThis was by far my worst experience working at a brewery. This “brewery” is just another sinking ship. The original owners sold out to a cannabis company hoping they could still produce beer while using the money from the delta 9 seltzers to keep production running. Otherwise this brewery wouldn’t have made it but in all honesty 8th wonder died when they did sell out. The distillery failed and they shut that down. The taproom was struggling big time so they changed it into a brewpub hoping they could survive off of selling cocktails because there is hardly any ever beer on tap. If they do have beer on tap it’s going to be something that’s just mid. Management is quick to deflect responsibility and throw employees under the bus. The production manager has a horrible temper. They don’t know how to send out schedules so employees are aware of what’s going on the day to day basis. The quality of the beer has gone down significantly ever since they hired their new head brewer. The pay is extremely low for the work output they expect out of you. This is a place where you get hired for a position but are expected to help out everywhere. They are hoping a new facility will revive the company but I don’t see that happening because they can’t fix the main issues at hand; which is management. All in all I would never recommend this place to anyone. There are better places to drink at and definitely better places to work at. The only good thing this place has is happy belly which is a food truck located...
Read moreI went here with a few friends based on their recommendation. We went here around 3 PM on a Saturday afternoon so it was somewhat busy. There wasn’t much parking available so we ended up grabbing a parking spot at a nearby public parking area. The distillery sits on a location near the brewery. The brewery itself is huge. The inside location has a few tables and bar seating. The beers you can order are on this huge chalkboard. There’s a ton of outdoor space, a stage, and several benches outside. Fortunately, it wasn’t too chilly so our group ended up getting a table outside. The brewery itself is baseball themed and I didn’t notice it too much until I went to the restroom as the “wallpaper” was made of baseball cards. I noticed a food truck outside and a few people with dogs so the brewery is definitely pet-friendly.
My friends ended up ordering a special for $18 where you could get 3 craft beers + commemorative glass you could keep. The way they provisioned your beers were by handing you 8th Wonder bottle caps that you can use anytime (i.e. take home and bring back at a future time). I think this is a great business model by all means. I ended up ordering one beer (Rocket Fuel), which is a Vietnamese Coffee Porter. It’s definitely what I was looking for and my friends enjoyed their beers too. If I lived in Houston, this would definitely be one of my go to spots. I would love to see what the music/night life scene is when they have that, and would love to...
