I decided to try out that too good to go app for the 2nd time. Went tremendously the first time with one restaurant. Great deal, portions, quality food, and got a full meal. I was so pleased that I decided to try another new place . Brothers tacos. Pickup time was afternoon. So in my mind, im imagining I will have the same experience. Maybe I will get some mexican amazing meal and good portion for the rate. Instead I just got a hand full of small left ofter egg breakfast tacos. Legit the leftovers from the morning. Very disappointed as its afternoon and I was not prepped for breakfast food, nor wanting that. And it was just the few tacos and they were all about the same, mostly egg. Only 1 taco had no egg. That's the one my son and I shared. 1 taco split lol. Not the deal or variety or quantity I expected. When I expressed shock over getting all breakfast foods in the afternoon, the girl just shrugged and was like well it is a surprise bag, so.. Yes, but with the other place actually providing a great experience and not jusy giving me literally the morning food that no one would want, I was thinking the same would apply here. Guess not. The other place Id go again and pay full rate. Here, I will not go again, even with the discount app.
Also, sadly, once I could see what the contents were, I hadn't touched anything , but I saw the egg and knew this wasnt for me, but I also didnt want to waste it. I then asked the staff if they could just provide it to their homeless or direct me to their homeless area. To which the girl just declined again. So I just ended up having to toss the tacos. And since they were going to do the same if I hadn't come any way, they really could care less about the waste or my dissatisfaction. Im truly not understanding how they have a high rating. I didnt see worth any 4.8 score.
To each their own though. Heading out, money down the drain, still hungry and we will now be picking something else to...
Read moreI place large orders here 1-2 times a month (60-75 tacos at a time), sometimes a few hours in advance, and sometimes with only 20-30 min notice. They never get annoyed and always listen carefully and repeat my order back to me one at a time.
Sometimes one or two are missing, sometimes an entire filling will be missing, or the labeling is very hard to distinguish (think how B, P, EP, BB, E, etc. can look similar if written hastily.) It's a sanitary issue if someone has to open a taco to see if it belongs to them and it was actually meant for someone else.
That being said, the price CANNOT be beat for the quality. The pickup process is super smooth, they're very friendly and attentive, and everything is always ready on time when I get there. I'm probably in and out in under 5 minutes each time.
This past time they forgot a major part of my order (24 tamales) so 9 people went without breakfast at our event. I called in and they were very gracious in resolving the issue and making sure everything got sorted out. Maria was professional, efficient, and considerate.
It would be 4 stars because I don't feel confident that my order will be correct every time, but considering the short notice I give them and the price/quality, I wouldn't go anywhere else. I usually get extras of each filling so if they forget something, I have some backup options.
Thanks for...
Read moreBrothers taco house is the pink building nn the corner of Emancipation & Leeland. It's a solid spot for tacos (including breakfast tacos) and menudo. I visited today (Sunday) around 12:45 pm and unfortunately they were out of barbacoa AND al pastor :/
Pros: there is a lot of variety and you can choose what you want in your tacos (especially for breakfast tacos) flavor is good, portions are filling, the pricing is good.
Cons: there's a long line so you wait until its your turn (~15 minutes+) and when you get there it can feel overwhelming/rushed especially since there is no menu to view while you're waiting in the long line or online. The menu is on the wall above the place you order. So you pretty much have to already know what you want or be a quick decision maker!
I ordered for two: two breakfast tacos- one with beans, chorizo, and egg. The other with beans, potatoes, and eggs. Additional tacos- beef, one spicy one regular. The portions are really filling and they provide onions, cilantro, and lime.
The menudo ($6+ for a small size) was solid as well and was a good portion too.
In total, 4 tacos, 2 drinks, and one small bowl of menudo for $19👍🏾
There is ALWAYS a line, I waited for about 15-20 minutes but he wait wasn't too bad since I was...
