My friends and I are regular customers of this location, for the main reason that the drinks are great when they are made here. However we usually order online, which is probably why I never noticed how horrible the customer service is! The was unfortunately down today so we had to order inside, which was the biggest mistake of my day. The young lady at the cashier was obviously upset, maybe she had a bad morning. As my friend was telling her the order, she never inputted anything my friend was saying and continued to ask what are you saying? My friend does have a slight accent so she decided it would be easier to just show her the photo of the order so she can input the information. Unfortunately it wasn’t any easier as she still inputted the details of the drinks incorrectly. When the drinks came out, it came out in the wrong cup so we asked them to put it in the venti cup that we ordered, they complied but with an attitude. The second cup that was wrong, we addressed it, instead of just changing the cups and making everyone’s lives easier, they continued with “what do you want me to do about it?” As we are answering them, they completely disregard what we are saying and proceeded to talk to the customer behind me, let me mention we are people of color and the client behind us were not. And to top this all off, between my friend and I there were 5 drinks, they sent us out the store without a cup holder. When we tried to ask for one, they disregarded our existence. Lesson learned today, people of color are not treated well here. Way to top off...
Read moreI was going to be quiet, but this Starbucks branch has consistently performed poorly. Sorry.
There is always staffing issue here. They are understaffed most of the time, so during coffee time especially in the morning, the store has about ten or twelve of us staring at two baristas and a cashier.
Because of this understaff issue, the cashier sometimes has to help prepare too. So, after a customer orders, sometimes we have to wait for an order to be prepared before being asked what we want to buy.
Why not order online then? Good question. Ordering online ahead of time, plenty of time, eliminates your wait time. With curbside order, you don’t even have to step in the store. That doesn’t work either. Many times, order is not ready.
Today for example, I ordered via the app. The app took my ordered and confirmed that order is received. Not too long after, the Starbucks app notified that the order is ready to be picked up. So, we were in front of the store and the order was not coming out. We had to come in the store. We showed our order and they said we ordered from the wrong store. We double checked and we were in the right store. They said then that the order is not ready yet. We showed the note from Starbucks app that it said it was ready for pick up. They said if it’s not there, it’s not ready.
Long story short, after arguing to defend our order, we finally got the coffee. But, what an obstacle course just to get a coffee that we have to pay...
Read moreTL;DR - Go to another store unless you have 15-20 minutes to spare.
I’ve been frequenting this store since Harvey shut down the Yale location. They are really not a small store when you consider the size and the space of their bar area, but still somehow with 5+ baristas, they cannot handle the morning and weekend rushes they get. I learned quickly to order my drink before I walk out of my apartment, which is about a 10-minute trip door to door, and almost every time (even though the app claims it’s a 3-7 minute prep time) I walk in and still have to wait for my drink. I know this is the epitome of first world problems, but it’s frustrating when I know this is not always the norm. Even when I order in-store, it’s at least a 15-minute wait. What really draws the line for me is how lackadaisical the baristas seem to be about it, and they just don’t care because they know the customers will wait. One day, the mobile order option was off for this store, and I was forced to go to a different store on my way to work. Thank goodness because now I have finally found a better option, though a further distance along my drive, at least I know my drink will be ready and waiting when I arrive and with only a 5-minute call time. I’m only surprised it took me 3 months to make the switch. Please bring back the I-10 &...
