I goes to Taco Cabana occasionally! My employee wanted some food from there. I asked for a Bean and Cheese Taco with no refried beans instead add black beans because I don’t eat pork & I was told that refried beans had pork fat in it. The lady that took my order Employee Number: 414162 said ok. Of course I order more things. I had to wait an extra 5mins for the fries. No problem. I received my food and rushed to get back to work. Got back to work passed out the food and open mines to bite into it BAM! No Black Beans it’s what y’all! Refried Beans yep omg I spit it out! Call the store 11079 Westheimer 10:52 4 times and left a voice message.5 time Liz/lizabeth 11:05am finally answers. She listens to me talk and say hold on. Another lady got on the phone Clarese Manager of Store until 2pm . She also listen to me talk, I also told her I’m not able to come back up there right now, & she said you have to come up here and get another one, Bring the two tacos with you so we can see it and give you the different one, but you can’t because breakfast time is over. Come tomorrow I will be here. 🤭 Me at work, not thinking I said ok. I said Thank you she just hung up. Oookk. I’m off work and I thought about it. Wait she never apologize. Never offered me different options instead of waiting all the way till tomorrow. Hey do you want a refund? Do you want me to exchange it for something else since it already transitioned to lunchtime? Can I give you something from the lunch options, nothing like that at all! And then to top the desert off, she didn’t even say no problem. You’re welcome. Have a great day or not. She just hung up the phone. Customer service sucks. I know people make mistakes, but I like accountability. So I say you know what I hold this food all day until I got off of work five something p.m. is set on my desk. I just threw it in the trash. I took pictures of it and threw it in the trash. Read moreIn general Taco Cabana is a real contradiction. Concept is excellent and I have had some incredibly tasty meals here over the years; the salsa bar, the meat quality, etc can all be excellent.
However this restaurant (including but not limited to this franchise) is the worst-run chain in America; squandering its opportunity. I don’t eat here anymore because it’s just been too many poor experiences. Examples:
-The location on Richmond consistently would not open on time; I went there two separate times at 6 or 615am when opening is 6, and they just didn’t open. One time no one ever showed up. Another time I saw people inside and knocked but no one ever acknowledged me. -Drive-through wait times vary wildly. Sometimes it’s quick, other times it takes a while. One time I waited 25min before just driving off after ordering because the line didn’t move. This or a version of it happened to me at 3 different locations. -Multiple times the order has been incorrect in the drive through. -During the early days of the pandemic I went to this location and saw they had a limited menu. No problem I thought, I ordered like $40 of food partly to feed my family but partly to help them out since restaurants were suffering. When I got home and started eating the food, however, several items were rancid/spoiled; they had very clearly been using and reusing ingredients after their expiration. For example the fresh shrimp taco was a stewed shrimp in a pasty mush. The chicken taco had been fried to oblivion but I could distinctly taste the rotted meat. It was nauseating.

Read moreThis location is beyond horrible I've tolerated it way too many times over the last 2 years due to its conveniently on my way to work, it dont even deserve 1 star. Today will be my last visit here. Customer service bad, they either get your order wrong or you're missing an item and there has been a few times they werent open on time, opened 5 to 10 mins late. I go thru the drive thru always between the hours of 6:05-6:20am and the Hispanic guy that's usually working the window has absolutely no customer service skills. He's rude to the point that he opens the window only halfway and reaches his hand out for your money without telling you your total. Almost never tells you the total at the ordering menu when you finish. You ask him a question or for certain condiments he just walks off without saying anything and have not come back to the window sometimes and I've had to blow. The ultimate last straw today was my tacos were raw undercooked it was red not pink throughout the ground beef. How could the person fixing the taco not see all this raw meat. I spoke to the manager Kathy who said to come back for replacement although she was apologetic it seem nonchalant of the seriousness of serving undercooked meat.
