Nestled in Houston’s vibrant culinary landscape, Taqueria Amanda’s on Airline Drive is a hidden gem that radiates warmth, authenticity, and an undeniable passion for Mexican cuisine. From the moment you step inside, the festive "South of the Border" decor welcomes you with a burst of color and charm, setting the stage for an exceptional dining experience.

Service at Taqueria Amanda’s is nothing short of impeccable. Alicia, our server, delivered the kind of attentive yet unobtrusive hospitality that transforms a meal into a memorable occasion. A standout touch was the tableside preparation of fresh guacamole, an interactive and flavorful beginning that underscored the restaurant’s commitment to freshness and quality.

The Fajita Plate: A masterclass in simplicity and flavor. Arrived as a carefully curated composition of textures and tastes. The beef skirt steak was cooked to absolute perfection - tender, moist, and infused with a smoky richness that only expert grilling can achieve.

Accompanying the star of the plate were Frijoles a la Charra and Spanish rice, both executed with balance and depth, serving as the ideal companions to the beef. A fresh medley of crisp lettuce, ripe tomato, and creamy avocado added a bright contrast, enhancing the plate’s overall appeal.

Alicia’s attentiveness extended to dessert, offering a thoughtful selection to close the meal. While I opted not to indulge this time, the mere gesture reflected the restaurant’s hospitality and dedication to a full dining experience.

Final Thoughts - In a city teeming with Tex-Mex options, Taqueria Amanda’s on Airline stands apart by honoring tradition with precision and care. From the lively ambiance to the flawless service and expertly executed cuisine, this establishment deserves recognition as a standout in Houston’s rich food scene. Whether you’re a devoted fan of Mexican fare or a first-time visitor, this is a spot worth...

For locals, we know Arandas as a small chain of Mexican restaurants that are fairly authentic and generous with their portion sizes. Usually great for a late night meal, you can't go wrong ordering almost anything from the menu. Free chips and salsa, cups of tea bigger than your hand can hold, and California burritos the size of Dwayne Johnsons forearm are the cliffnotes of what to expect when you come here. Some of the staff has pretty limited English skills but as long as you keep your order simple, speak basic and clearly, you should understand each other enough to make it through your meal but this isn't always the case as there definitely are some waitstaff that speak English better and probably could take care of you if there's an issue. I've been going here for years and it will always been in my rotation for good...

Give this Arandas on Airline 5 stars for their great service a delicious food. Came by today 09/26/20 and went through the drive up window to place my order but didn't realize you had to call to place an order so that you don't have to wait in the parking lot. The lady that took my order was very nice and didn't have an attitude for not calling in my order. I placed my order and parked in the parking lot for 15 minutes which I thought was very good for a big order. My order was perfect and it was made just like I had requested it. My tortas were perfectly made and the bread was very toasty and my sincronizadas were delicious and chessey and my agua de pepino and horchatas were very refreshing. I highly recommend this location for their great service and great attitudes but also because of the...

I went on 3/1/25. I’ve been to a couple of these locations and this was the absolute best one yet. The guacamole & chicharrón were top tier, very savory and creamy. I also got the shrimp cocktail and took it to go, and currently eating it 8 hours later & it’s still taste fresh. Lastly my boyfriend ordered a pastor taco and barbacoa; this pastor trumps most of the taco trucks that I consider great. The barbacoa tacos were pretty tender and flavorful too. I can’t remember the waitresses name but she was kind enough to compliment my boyfriends Spanish (he’s white and trying really hard) and she didn’t have to do that. Sorry about the bad photos, food smelled too good to wait longer.
