I ordered online prior to pick-up. Arrived at store about 7:15 pm. Place was nearly empty. There was one couple waiting at the counter to order. The young lady behind the counter (cashier) seemed totally focused on bagging orders for pick-up. I went to the end of the counter where she was since that seemed to be where you pick up to go orders. She did not acknowledge my presence. After a several minutes, I went back and stood behind the couple waiting to order. Another customer walked up to the end of the counter and the cashier handed the woman her order. She was followed by another customer who was also handed her order. The only thing I can figure out is the cashier had finished bagging orders and was able to hand people their orders. I would have thought that she would have asked if I was picking up and given me my order, but no, she took the order of the couple that was waiting. When I got to the register and gave her my name, she handed me my order which had been ready and sitting on the shelf the entire time I was there. Not sure why she couldn't have handed it to me earlier.
I decided I wanted a few bottles of water (as I was traveling), so I ordered three bottles. On the menu board above the counter, bottled water was shown as 1.99 per bottle. When the cashier rang them up, they rang up as 2.29 per bottle. I pointed out that the menu board said 1.99. She pointed out that the register said 2.29. I asked for the manager. She said the manager was out and she was in charge. I declined the water. WARNING! If you order here and think you are paying one price (as posted on the menu board), you may be charged much more! That's false advertising and highly deceptive.
As for the food, I ordered Shrimp Etouffee, Boudin Balls, and Fried Green Tomatoes. The servings were generous. I'm not sure what Boudin Balls are supposed to taste like, but they seemed decent. The Fried Green Tomatoes were good. I'd order them again. The Shrimp Etouffee was pretty good, but I'd try something different next time.
Since I'm in the area for only a few days, I probably...
Read moreWhat is there not to like! The food customer service, alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages and owners are wonderful. (They're even open to new ideas!) Where do I start? I haven't found one thing on the menu that I was unhappy with. I love my fish cooked hard and crispy. Their cook Sergio makes it perfect EVERYTIME! I love the fried pickles, hush puppies, garlic bread (extra butter) corn/potatoes and andouille sausage. Try the andouille sausage with one of your boils favorites, you want be disappointed! I had the crab, shrimp and sausage with Cajun sensation sauce and hot spice. WOW! When they say HOT, it's HOT! The blackened catfish and shrimp topped with their homemade stuffed is delicious. (The blackened fish by its self is good also. Make sure you try the red beans and rice, fried okra, fried and dirty rice. Those are my favorite sides. Now let me tell you about my favorite staff members. Cresha, I'm not sure what her position is, but she's very friendly approachable and all over the place handling EVERYTHING. She may be management. If not, she should be because she acts like it. Next is the man that has stole my stomach! Lol! Sergio! He is an awesome cook. I hope you never get rid of him. (You may loose a customer!) Then I met Quon. He's very good also.He helps with answering calls, taking orders, and he also cooks! Sergio and Quan are a dream team! The General Manager Lydia is a sweetheart. You can tell that she loves her job and her customers. I also met one of the owners. I think his name is Robert. He's very easy on the eyes ladies. Lol! but VERY respectful. Not sure which one it was. I forgot his name, but these staff members are the reason why I keep coming back.
I do think they need a happy hour, bread pudding and a way you can order more than one starter at a discounted price. Other than that, I'm spoiled! I love them! After a bad day, I know I can get good food, goid drinks and a bunch of smiles!

Read moreMy husband and I visited "The Catch" for the very first time last week. We were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and delicious the food was with such reasonable prices. We both had Po- boys that were outstanding and the staff was extremely nice. We both agreed to add "The Catch" to our list of favorite restaurants and to visit again real soon. Our only complaint about "The Catch" (Champions area) is that they recommended that we try their other store on 290. We tried it tonight. HUGE disappointment! Again, we ordered Po-Boys. My husband had the half and half (oyster and shrimp) with a side of coleslaw. I had just the shrimp with dirty rice. My dirty rice was over cooked and very mushy. Yes, they did replace the rice with fresher rice. But then, as I'm in the middle of my po-boy, I bite into an oyster. No, I'm not a fan of oysters. I couldn't swap with my husband because he had finished the po-boy that was originally meant for me. We will never go to the 290 store again.
We have 2 pieces of advice for the Champions store.
#1 Keep up the fabulous work. (Kudos to the management.) #2 DO NOT recommend the 290 store unless they are properly trained...
