PLEASE BE CAREFUL AND CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE SERVING IT! I ordered here tonight after a 16 hour shift at the hospital because I was too tired to cook and their food is usually decent and affordable. I ordered a large sweet and sour chicken, a large egg drop soup and 2 egg rolls for $20. The order came out quick and I headed home to unwind and eat with my family. The chicken was a little tough and drier than usual but I was happy that everyone had something decent to eat until my husband went for his second serving of chicken and found a HUGE metal shaving in the chicken. I tried calling this location 5x with no answer. We were both too exhausted and needing to do bed time with our kids so we decided to forego going down there. I’m disappointed we weren’t able to contact anyone about this but I’m glad this didn’t end up in one of my family member’s stomach. Besides this incident, everything here had been decent. To the owner, please note the time stamp on the receipt, it was just before 7pm and as stated before, I called 5x with no answer. It was not shortly before closing and even if it was, it does not excuse the fact that you had a piece of metal in your food. Please take accountability rather than trying to blame the customer or circumstances.

This is a hard review for me. First, the fried chicken here is amazing! This chain probably makes my favorite, plain fried chicken. It's crispy, and juicy and flavorful. Now, why does it get only 3 stars? Well, for starters, the fried chicken may very well be the only great food here. The fried rice was pretty bad, as was the weird bread they gave with the meal. Also, I had always gone through the drive through previously, and I recommend that anyone desiring the deliciousness that is Timmy Chan's chicken do the same. The inside of this establishment was... confused is probably the best way to describe it. It appears that the owner purchased a seafood restaurant, left most of the place untouched, and sequestered their chicken making into a small corner. There were fish mounted on the walls, and an island style bar on a raised platform that was covered with an enormous table that only had about four chairs around it for some reason. The floors and tables were dirty, and I really doubt anyone actually ever came over the ordering counter to clean that area. Overall, this chicken is the best, and go through the drive through.

Update 3-21: After 20+ years, I'd never ordered their ribs until today. WOW. They not only are HUGE, but talk about tender! I was floored. Now I'm kicking myself for passing on these until now. Original post: I have been coming here since it first open. I have rarely had complaints about the food. Their fare is a bit pricey until you break it down to how many meals I get out of an order (not counting wing combos). Their wonton soup is OUTSTANDING! It is full of wontons and meat and book choy for around $4 for a large. The wait in the drive thru varies but is usually between 10-20 mins depending on the line. I don't mind considering that I know I'm getting freshly cooked food. I'll be back!

This review is for the Timmy Chan's, 9550 Bissonnet Location... On 12/17/2019 I placed an order in the drive thru of 20 bbq wings w/shrimp fried rice instead of fried rice, 8 crab rolls, and 8 piece wings. Paid the extra for shrimp fried rice along w/my order and waited for them to bring my order out. My receipt blew away right away cause it was windy that day. I didn't check my order because I was in a rush and had to drop my son off. Plus, I have only received a messed up order prolly 3 times in the 17 years that I have given them my business and when that happened they fixed the order and that was it. I made it to the place where I had to drop my son off, so we could eat, only to discover that my 20 piece wings were bbq ribs AND the sauce spilled in the bag. Upset, I went back to the Timmy Chan's on Bissonnet to get an exchange of the order or refund but I didn't have my receipt. The girl at the drive thru wants to tell me that yes, I did say ribs, when I don't even eat pork!!! Now maybe my English is bad, but does twenty pieces wings sound like ribs? Furthermore, the shrimp fried rice was placed in the wrong order, which confirms the confusion. Instead of apologizing and just giving me what I paid for, for the mistake the girl made in the drive thru AND because they put the shrimp fried rice in my son's order I had to give an extra $6 because they charged me the price of the ribs. It was very frustrating and to tell the truth, I have never been treated as badly as I felt they treated me. I asked to please just give me what I paid for, the cashier said, I think his name was Paul, he don't know me and that I might be trying to get over, real nasty!!! Over $3.49? REALLY? AND the girl at the drive thru who made the error, said something smart in Spanish, I didn't hear her but the others around her started laughing and looking at me, which made me feel uncomfortable. In essence, no one there was going to take responsibility. In losing my receipt this was the treatment I received. I got my 20 piece wings w/fried rice and 4 of the 8 crab puffs I purchased. I would not recommend this place based on their customer service alone. I guess management has changed and it's no longer worth it to me. Furthermore, I ended up throwing the food away because I believed that they did...
