I just had a terrible experience at this establishment. I just got off of work and the only food option that I could eat is Torchys because it caters to my pescatarian diet. Perfect, I thought until I arrived. I waited 5minutes until I was acknowledged. And then the bartender yelled over the divider and asked if I needed help. I placed my order and then 12minutes later the bartender walked back to me and said the kitchen ignored my ticket because they already cleaned the grill. He then apologized and he assured it would be made and that if anything was missing he previewed another manager of the situation. I received my food and the kids grilled quesadillas was missing, the Baja shrimp flour tortilla was not cooked, and the taco was half of its normal size. I didn’t bother to open up the rest of my food because I saw that the integrity of my meal was already compromised. I could no longer trust the kitchen. After working for 12hrs without a break to eat I took a risk and took two bites of the Baja shrimp and immediately regretted it. It didn’t taste the same and my mouth and throat started tingling. I have ordered the same food from this establishment for over 3years and I am completely disgusted by these workers. I understood I came 10 minutes before closing but please communicate with me. I would of totally understood that you couldn’t make my meal because of a timing issue. Instead you choose to waste my time, stole my money, and gave me half cooked food. Thank you...
Read moreI know my seasonings and this place is absolutely disgusting. Everything had way too much salt and I don’t mean in a “I’m being health conscious” kind of way because I’m not. I mean in a “I’m questioning my taste buds and sense of taste and had to eat something else to prove there wasn’t anything wrong with my taste buds” way. Literally too salty to the point I couldn’t taste the food! What’s the point of using all those ingredients if you can’t taste anything behind the too much salt?? I ordered the trailer trash, corn, queso and chips, and Democrat. The trailer trash, queso, and the corn were all too salty to the point I couldn’t taste the chicken, the cheese, and the corn. Just salt and too much of it. The Democrat was bland and was too dry. Like isn’t this supposed to be Mexican food? Mexican food is more flavorful then what I was served (either too salty or bland and dry). I’ve eaten Mexican food in ever single state I’ve been to and this falls to the bottom. Shocking because Texas has such a large Mexican population. If it’s supposed to be “Americanized” Mexican food (catered for a white audience), it’s failed at that miserably too. Inauthentic “Mexican” places like Chipotle and Taco Bell know there’s more to seasoning food then just adding...
Read moreI've gone to Torchy's for a while now and I still have my favorites, the Ranch Hand, Mr Pink, Mr Orange, the Beef Fajita, and pretty much all of the breakfast tacos. Their Green Chile Queso is also awesome but my one complaint with Torchy's food is that the chips are a little on the salty side. I end up going home super thirsty after eating those. They're unlimited refills on the chips so it's hard to stop eating them, especially if you've got a good amount of queso left. Other than that the food has always been pretty good and the prices have stayed pretty stable (a plus in my book).
The other issue I have, and really it's just with this particular location, is the way the parking is set up. It's not that big to begin with, but it can really turn into a cluster when some of the customers with the larger trucks and SUVs try to squeeze around the building to exit the lot. It's happened several times and even during this visit. The hold up was so bad that some of the other customers thought it'd be a good idea to just go out through the entrance and that created even more of a mess. Your best bet when coming to here is to try to get here during off-peak hours. Other than that, they have indoor and outdoor seating, and the wait staff is...
