DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Interesting that they find it difficult to adjust the "doneness" of noodles. No other requests were made and the waitress said she doesn't want to "make too many adjustments" as it may confuse the workers in the back.. The brussel sprout appetizer was more oily than crispy and the tahini leafy green appetizer was just bearable. The noodles in the spicy tantan were okay, the waitress did her best, and the overall bowl was decent.
What soured the memory of the meal even more is the owner's response below. Review changed from 2 to 1 star and compliments regarding the establishment have been removed as I was initially trying hard to uplift the eatery, but not interested in doing so now.
Response to owner: Find for me in the original review where it was stated that the 'female' waitress said she didn't want to help with meal adjustments. And it's pretty weird that you're going to such great lengths to pull out words from a order on a random day to fit your narrative. It was shared to the waitress that we don't like soggy or soft noodles. No hate on the waitress. The "manager/owner/responder" is intriguingly weird. Tsktsk, what a shame. I wonder what this place will be replaced by soon. Hopefully something worth it!
LOL..they updated their response after seeing my "Response to owner" above. Tsktsk. Realized they eff'd up. Original "owner's" response told me to not say "al dente" or speak Italian when making a request on the cook time for my noodles. Too bad, I already have several friends and acquaintances say that they'll "definitely skip that place" as there are just "too many better places to eat than to deal with places that have bad...
Read moreI'm back in China Town again, I wanted something soupy and rich, so I came here, the reviews looked pretty good, and I can totally see why.
Food ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I got a tonkotsu black garlic ramen, my dad got the same thing but spicy, and my mom got their signature dish, I forgot the name, but it was grilled pork with noodles with a little flag on it. We also got octopus balls which were pretty good and some chili oil dumplings which weren't unique, but pretty good. The ramen was amazing, the broth was very rich, fresh, and tasty, which was exactly what I wanted, it was full of different vegetables and also had VERY tender pork. The pork was a little crisp on the outside and tender inside but overtime you won't taste the crispiness because of the soup, the noodles were also very tender and flavourful too. The signature dish was pretty good, the pork wasn't too crispy, but it was flavourful, I don't really feel like this should be their signature, but I would recommend it. This is the go-to place for ramen, at least for me...
Atmosphere ⭐⭐⭐⭐
A little stylish and cramped, but not really, nothing really stood out to me, I also wouldn't recommend using the Sriracha sauce because it doesn't look like they clean the tips 🫤
Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐
When we first came in there were a lot of people without their food, not even water either. But I think it's because they just opened, because food started flying out after a little while. You'll wait for it for about 10 to 15 minutes
But other than that this would be a great place to get ramen, the food is on point, which is what...
Read moreWe walked right in and were sat immediately at 530pm on a Friday. Party of 2. Two adults and a toddler.
We waited for nearly 20 minutes before having anyone come to us for a drink order or anything else. Other people who were seated after us were initially served before us.
When we ordered we got Chili oil dumplings, Special spicy tori patain ramen, classic patain, and prime ribeye donburi.
Although the servers were nice when we interested with them we were overall not interacted with very much. We did not require much attention but we had a hard time even ordering drinks and then were given no updates on how long our food was taking.
The donburi came out within 10 minutes of ordering. The flavor had a great smoke to it and the dish was overall very good.
We waited 30 minutes AFTER the donburi came out and had to ask where the rest of the food was and were told they had no idea but ramen was “running late all day.” After a few more minutes with nothing we were about to leave because our toddler still had not received food after being seated for about an hour. Then the rest of our food (2 ramen and dumplings) came out. The rest of the food came out 40 minutes after the first entree.
Both ramens were delicious but I don’t know that they were so delicious to wait for an hour with a small hungry kid.
The chili oil dumplings were lacking. Would not recommend.
They had no issue accommodating a shellfish allergy.
Maybe take...
