First, I'm not sure if this is a new thing but valet parking is just nonsense when the giant parking lot is feet from the restaurant. The service and our waitress, outstanding, super friendly and took care of us. Fried pickles and jalapenos were good but dont know about serving it with the pimento cheese spread. Breading was a lighter corn or semolina, good choice. Chips and queso, normal. Cant speak for other dishes but Chicken Fried Steak was good but not spectacular for the price. Wagyu being used there doesn't make sense. That dish is a normal lower priced, heavy meal, that is served at just about every Southern restaurant and to have it be Wagyu and charge that price made me think it would have to be great but it was just the same. Churro dessert was undercooked 2x, possibly they had issues with the fryer but it shouldn't be wet like that on the inside. This was the first restaurant in Houston that we left smelling like a fryer or grease trap. I may go back, possibly to try another dish but not...

Food wasn’t all that great for the price and portion size.
Started with the pork belly pastor lettuce wraps which were missing the charred pineapple but the waiter didn’t come back to our table for over 10 minutes so we just ate them. The soft butter lettuce was a poor choice as the hot pork belly and watery, unflavorful habanero salsa made it wilt, giving zero crunch to the bite.
The chicken fried steak was very flavorful but pouring the oily green beans over the fried steak that was placed on mashed potatoes was a pretty presentation but made it very soggy with no crunch.
The catfish po boy was tasty but incredibly messy to eat. They used something like a soft torta roll instead of French bread which fell apart immediately trying to pick it up. The tomato slice in the sandwich had its stem left on it which made for an unpleasant bite.
Beautiful spot in the neighborhood so I hope they...
Read morefood was great but not worth the price. drinks were way overpriced. decor and music were pretty bad. it was like someone from new york described what they thought texas looks or sounds like (expensive cowboy hats on the wall and lame country versions of old pop songs -- ugh). staff was the only part of the place i liked. the parking situation was horrible. valet parking in a neighborhood joint is just stupid. do they expect us to park in the neighborhood and walk over? that's just rude to the neighborhood. i actually tried to order over the phone and they wouldn't take my order. they made me come in and sit at the bar while they packed the food. if you do go, the chicken fried steak is...
