We have never had any issues with service or food here but tonight was an absolute disaster. My younger daughter Aria is shy, I order her food for her, that's my decision to make. I can make that decision for my child, if I thought she needed to order her own food, I as her mother would make her. When the server saw her being shy and drinking her drink instead of ordering her own food, she reached across the table and tried to pull the cup and straw away from my daughter. Now... were still in the middle of a pandemic.. you should not be touching my child without my permission, she is 5 years old. She literally took the straw out of her mouth. Aria was so unbelievable uncomfortable and she has surgery coming up for her teeth. She has sensitive teeth and gums and this complete stranger thought it was okay to touch her straw and pull it out of her mouth. My friend literally said please stop because she will start to cry and she didn't even care. My other daughter wasn't ordering food because she doesn't eat at restaurants, she sees a nutritionist to help with her eating. She eats at home before we go out so she can have dessert. When the waitress asked what she was having I said she'll have ice cream and she rolled her eyes and waved her away and didn't even write it down. My mom orders fries and mashed potatoes with her chicken and the server said "someone's like starch". Inappropriate behavior, unnecessary comments and the fact that she made everyone at my table feel uncomfortable....
Read moreAttempted to place order 3 times and each time waitress comes back, sorry were out of chicken,(their main meal) sorry we ran out of broccoli for the soup, sorry were out of penne, but funny how finally when we get somewhat of the meals we want our sons meal has a pile of broccoli on his plate but wife can't get a soup and salad which was the soup of the day. Didn't have the heart with all the bs of the meals being ordered to let the waitress know the bowls for the French onion soups were hot but contents were cold and the drinks by the time we got them they were watered down and separating.I think the topper was we got our food and the waitress left and came back not even 30 seconds later and asked how's the chicken and I hadn't even cut into it or taken a bite of the ziti they substituted for the penne. To top it off we got there at 730pm waited to sit down and the restaurant wasn't even full (lots of empty boots on a Saturday evening). In conclusion i would have to say the best part of going there was the popcorn and the baseball game. I wouldn't recommend going to that restaurant, I recommend the 99 in Auburn or Worcester its a little more of a drive but at least u know before placing a order if they are out of anything so u can make a decision on what u want to eat and drinks are received timely and...
Read moreThere’s always a first time, and for me, it was at this 99 Restaurant in Hudson. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. Locals (and yes, I’m using the word just to mirror how Americans affectionately refer to the rest of the world’s population in their native places) probably don’t need an introduction to this chain. But for anyone unfamiliar, think of it as a Chili’s with a bit more dining space beyond the bar or an Outback without the grilled steaks.
The food is solid, with comforting options that cater to hearty appetites. I was curious about what sets 99 apart from similar chains like Applebee’s, and the answer I got was simple: “They think they’re better and charge more.” While neither is glaringly obvious, the menu does offer a few standout dishes, like the Shepherd’s Pie - a refreshing option compared to the usual burgers and fried food lineup.
Next time, I’ll try sitting at the bar - it looks like the kind of spot where this place really shines. For a casual, satisfying meal, 99 in Hudson is...
