We were on our way back home, from Minneapolis to Milwaukee. This coffee shop was in our Wisconsin Coffee Passport booklet, so we decided to give it a try. It was a little confusing finding the place, since it's located in the rear. It's a cute spot, with a beautiful view of the St. Croix River. If we had time, we would have gone down to the water to enjoy our beverages.

They have several large tables outside. Inside, there are a few seats in the main area, which can be a little loud. You'll find additional seating beyond this space, and those areas were quieter and great for conversations.

There were several other people/orders ahead of us. The staff taking the orders was friendly and patient. We ordered a London Fog (a little lavender, a little vanilla, extra foam) and a coffee latte. I watched as they made the drinks, and you could tell that these folks cared about each one. They didn't rush the London Fog — taking the time to steep it just right, and again, taking time with frothing the milk. It was a pleasure to watch. Both drinks were very good!

Not sure when we will be back through, but would love...

I am from Texas and found this place visiting my best friend in Hudson, WI! The coffee was so incredibly good and I loved their handmade mugs while I was in store. My best friend noticed and bought me one for a bday surprise. About a month ago I dropped my bestie bday present in my house and it broke. To my excitement I noticed I was able to order a replacement mug via their website and have it mailed to me in TX. The first go around they didn’t package it properly. Only in a box with tissue paper & sadly the handle broke. I called sad and they sent me another very quickly. This time around it was properly packaged. It came in a bigger box and inside was a smaller trademarked Ember and Bean box specifically for the mug and bubble wrapped with tissue paper. Thank you Ember and Bean for sending the replacement and packaging it perfectly. I’m so happy. These are literally the best hand crafted mugs you will find! I hope to order more...

Had to cross state lines to get my father-in-law some Spotted Cow and came across this little gem of a café. The entrance is further down than we originally thought. Just read the signs. The space inside was a bit limited, but honestly quite sufficient. There's additional seating in the hallway. I enjoyed the design aspects.

We had asked for a Pup Cup to bring out to our dog and they told us that they allowed dogs inside! Definite plus! We humans got a cold brew, and a seasonal latté that was flavored with a housemade cinnamon-plum syrup. I asked the barista if it was very sweet and he assured me that it was not. He was indeed being truthful! That drink was absolutely delicious--the espresso had a great roast and body, the milk was the right temp, and the flavors worked well with just the right amount of sweetness. Sometimes I just want an espresso. Sunday, I wanted a latté. And, it was a...
