Dined here on a Saturday evening with my sister and cousin. Saw this place getting hype all over Instagram from foodie profiles so of course this was on my list to try out.
When we arrived, we waited in a line to use a touchpad to enter some info about our party and get put on the waitlist. It seemed somewhat more efficient than talking to the hostess I guess??? It was pretty packed and when we arrived and after getting entered the waitlist, a link was sent to keep track of the status to let you know how many parties are ahead of you. there were 26 parties ahead of us. In total we waited 30 min, so people were getting seated fairly quickly. It’s a huge place so there’s plenty of seating for guests.
It was finally our turn after 30 min and a waiter takes us to our table. We put in our drink orders and headed towards the Buffett area.
There were so many options. The had cold seafood, soup, sushi, baked seafood, fried seafood, fried foods like wings, nuggets, egg rolls, they even pad pizza and chicken nuggets and of course your typical Asian buffet foods like general Tao, orange chicken, bourbon chicken, fried rice, lo mein. Although, I did not have the appetite for most of the Asian foods, I got a little bit of everything else they offered.
I got a plate of sushi, plate of cold seafood, and some baked or hot seafood for my first go round. The sushi was good I like the selection they had and they even had squirt bottles for different dipping sauces for soy sauce, spicy Mayo and eel sauce. They also had pickled ginger and wasabi in the sushi selection.
The cold seafood was lacking a lot. The only thing they had was shrimp. It looked like they had oyster but when I arrived it looked unkept. Oysters out of their shell and strewn all over the ice. It looked like they also had crab legs but that wasn’t filled either. So I got the cold shrimp and some cocktail sauce and hoped that my next buffet visit the oysters would be filled.
After finishing everything I got, I went back to see if oysters were refilled and it looked untouched from my last visit. Same oysters just thrown over the ice not in their shells. So I went and got other kinds of foods.
My cousin visited the soup section and tried it out. She said the soup was lacking so much flavor like they forgot to put salt.
Our waters were never refilled until we got our check.
The dessert was not good at all. The slushees they had were good though. And their ice cream tasted like plastic.
Overall I give this buffet a 3.2. Food was good for a buffet. It’s hard to find a decent buffet place these days and I feel like this kinda revived Chinese buffet a bit. The sushi was good for a buffet place as well. It tasted as expected with no flaws.
It just seemed like they never really kept up with restocking oysters or the other cold seafood options. It looked the same when I left as when I first arrived. Pretty disappointing, but we did go on a weekend so maybe there’s better luck during the week. I probably wouldn’t come back here u less it was during the week. But it’s worth a try if you haven’t...
Read moreMy family and I recently visited Buffetopia for a birthday lunch. It was our first time, and we were initially very impressed. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful—the decor, lighting, and the way the buffet is presented are all top-notch. It felt very clean and modern. The food selection is vast, and for the most part, it was enjoyable. However, the service left something to be desired. Our server seemed overworked, and there was a language barrier that made it difficult to communicate when we had questions or needed a drink refill. It wasn't a major issue, but it did impact our experience slightly. The biggest and most concerning problem arose when my daughter was eating snow crab from the "seafood delight" platter on the hot food buffet. As I helped her crack open a claw, I tasted a piece of the meat to make sure it was good for her. What I found was absolutely disgusting. The meat was brown, had a foul, muddy, spoiled taste, and left a chemical or acidic burning sensation in the back of my throat. I immediately took the plate away from my daughter. Because everything else had been so nice, I decided to handle it discreetly. I quietly told the hostess what I had discovered and asked her to pass the information on to the manager, hoping they would remove the spoiled item. However, about 20 minutes later, I returned to the buffet and was horrified to find the exact same tray of spoiled crab meat still being served to customers. It seemed like my complaint was completely ignored. This was a major turnoff and completely overshadowed the otherwise pleasant aspects of our meal. The thought of that spoiled, dangerous food being served to other families, and especially to children, is deeply concerning. The beautiful presentation of the restaurant can't excuse this level of negligence with food safety. While we enjoyed the other food, we cannot recommend Buffetopia after this experience. The taste of that spoiled meat and the burning sensation in my throat took hours to go away, and it was a terrible way to end what was supposed to be a special birthday lunch.
P.S. We went for cold fresh snow crab, but there wasn't any available during our visit. Maybe that's only a dinner or...
Read moreI wrote this review to get a percentage off my ticket. General cost is about $20- 30 dollars per head. First when I came in I was welcomed with smiley faces, seated promptly and got a drink. The place was clean, its aslo brand new with nice ambience. I tasted 80% of their menu. This review is subjective, I recommend you come and try it for yourself to judge the menu. First thing, I tried was Kimchi and it's one of the best I have had so far, it's fermented to perfection and seasoned to taste. Next was the cooked, not a fan of the tempura shushi, it was a bit doey and chewy and not hot. The veggie shushi was alright. Next was the oysters with Kimchi sauce and lemon squeezed on top, I know you gotta try it. One was fresh the other rotten. The fried crabs were also rotten, at least the one i put in my mouth. The fried shrimp was good. White noodles was good. The mushroom were a bit under seasoned. The garlic potatoes were delicious. The broccoli stir fry was also nice and crunchy. The fried rice could use a bit more seasoning, the lomein was okay given that I have never been a fan. The fried calamari was not good, too fishy with a touch of rotting. Tempura shrimp was sweet and well seasoned. Chicken skewer was delicious. Spring roll was good. Kicking chicken was also good and would have been tastier if hotter. Oranges were great. Melons were meh, pineapples were good too. Overall I would rate this place good - 3.5. One very bad, bad, fair, good, very good, and excellent scale.
Side note, my waitress took my fork when I got up to get more food. She walked past me several times seeing that I was back and didn't bother to ask me If I wanted another silverware. However; there were some silverware at the...
