Great Food & Great Service at Reasonable Prices
We visit this Carrabba's 3-4 times per month and it never fails to provide great food and good service.
Our last visit started out with their Calabrian Roasted Wings - spicy chicken wings roasted in the wood-fired grill and served with house-made gorgonzola dipping sauce. They were really tender and the chili peppers didn't overpower the flavors. We got the Caesar Salad, made with fresh, crisp lettuce, a house-made Caesar dressing that's outrageously good and topped with shredded aged Parmesan. We pretty much get this every time we go - it's so good we can't get past trying another kind of salad.
For the main course I had one of their fall specials - the "Meatball Majore". It was a plate of pasta with a huge mozzarella & parmesan-stuffed meatball. The entree comes with pomodoro sauce, but I got it with their Bolognese meat sauce. It was outstanding! I loved the Italian seasonings, the traditional flavor and signature taste of their meat sauce. The massive meatball was delicious by itself. When I cut it open, the cheese oozed out all over the pasta. The entree was so big I took leftovers home and made two more lunches out of it! (see photo) My wife got another of the fall specials: Chicken Scarpariello. It's chicken braised with italian sausage and peppers in a kind of sweet-and-sour sauce. She gobbled it up! And if you have a sweet tooth, you can't pass up their Cannoli Cake. It's made with tender layers of cake permeated with a chocolate liqueur syrup and frosting layers made with a combination of cream cheese, mascarpone and ricotta, then topped with a mini Cannoli. The sides of the cake are also covered with semi-sweet chocolate chips. It is absolutely fantastic. But be warned, it may take 2, 3 or 4 people to eat the gigantic slice of cake they bring you!
As for the service, we generally try to go on an evening where Caitlin (Bartender/Wait Staff) is working at this location. We always get a cheerful smile and prompt service. I've read a few less than stellar reviews of Carrabba's and all I can say is some folks give very negative reviews for interesting reasons, some of which have nothing to do wit the food. I can understand a poor review if someone gets bad service - there's no excuse for that, but in the dozens of visits to this particular Carrabba's we've always had acceptable if not excellent service. Of course, your results may vary, but if you haven't been to Carrabba's in a while, give this location a try - and to ensure great service, ask...
Read moreI juggled between 2 and 3 stars for this review, and because the food was delicious and hot when received, I'll settle on 3 out of generosity. Now that the one pro is out the way, here are the cons of my review. We arrived on Saturday around 6 pm. Not to packed, we waited maybe 10 minutes for a party of 4 adults and 4 kids. They sat us at a 12 top near the bar. At arrival, there were 3 at the bar, and the 3 booths were being tended to by another waitress. After about 10 minutes of no acknowledgment, we went to the front to see who would be our waiter. The bar waitress then came over and said so are you ready.. no greeting, no drink order, no apps, just ready to take a food order. We proceeded to give a drink order, ignoring her lack of skill, and placed an order for appetizers. That all came out in 10 to 15 minutes, not too bad. We then all quickly placed our food order. Soon after, more individuals came to the bar filling all seating. We noticed that after another 30 minutes, there was no food coming. We also took notice that orders were coming quickly to the bar and seating around us that had come way after our placing our orders. My husband requested from the hostess to speak with the manager. He never came. We then questioned our server, to which she said the kitchen was backed up and cooked in order received. How is that possible if others received their food after we ordered prior yet to figure out. The next one kids order came solo again, but it doesn't make sense. About an hour after ordering we received our meals. The food was hot and very delicious and that we are grateful for but does not change the facts. They did comp $30 on our ticket and provided some free desserts, but my issue is more on the lack of management acknowledging and being aware of mishaps. I may return again. The jury is still...
Read moreThis place used to be The Bomb in early 2000’s. Now, in 2022… It looks and tastes like a Bomb hit it!!! Nasty greasy from front door to tables to restrooms. Looks as if it was last cleaned back decades ago. The Fried Calamari, which was the Only thing I ever ordered for take out, went from Fresh calamari fried in a white-clear light big fluffy crisp batter to now shipped battered calamari thrown into old dark oil, it tastes and looks to Me. I’m positive this incredible Dish has drastically changed! Still good enough to eat while driving but NOTHING like it used to be!!! Clientele seems to have changed, as well. What a shame. I have eaten dinners years ago, indoors and food was good. So I can’t say whether the other Dishes are still good or gone downhill. Price point had not changed much from 20 years ago for the Calamari. However….. the same nice portioned loaf of Awesome bread still comes with the Calamari Dish BUT PLAN ON AN IMMEDIATE VISIT WITH YOUR DENTIST AFTERWARDS!!!!! Bread which used to melt in your mouth and fresh out of the oven is now cold dried thick inside hard as a brick and at least five to seven days old re-heated over and over and over again. WILL BREAK YOUR TEETH. THIS, too is such a shame! I could not literally eat the bread. And the side of fresh ground herbs are no more. Instead is a tiny clump of old herbs glued together. Only the packets of To Go olive oil were fresh! The Calamari Dish does come with a marinara sauce and a white sauce but I don’t care to use them. I won’t be ordering Calamari anymore. But found some frozen at the local grocery store! Going to try my hand at lightly breading & frying them at home to see if they taste just as good. Unless meat is too tough, the results should at least be better than what I...
