In January 2023, I finished a meeting in Huntingdon, PA and was tired of the typical fast-food options. I noted a billboard advertising Moxmoe Pictures Famous Sandwiches and decided to try it out of curiosity. It IMMEDIATELY became one of my new favorite restaurants in Pennsylvania!
As someone who once wanted to be a filmmaker, I absolutely love the concept of a restaurant with a “cinematic” theme, and Moxmoe Pictures does an excellent job capturing that feel, with a red carpet at the register, burgundy painted walls reminiscent of curtains, posters with fluorescent lights, and a HUGE hand painted mural of “Highlightsville!” Not only that, but there also three television screens. However, instead of being tuned to regular cable, they are tuned to TriviaLoop, FailARMY, and AFV tv, adding some educational and comedic value to the overall experience!
As for the food, it is consistently delicious with fresh and locally made ingredients! Every sandwich I’ve had so far has been INCREDIBLE! I especially like how the sandwiches are named as if they are movie titles. For instance, instead of just calling a roast beef & cheddar sub what it is, they give it the title “Highway Dreaming!” My favorites would have to be The Mobster, Ride On, Coach from the Couch, and the wildly popular newcomer, Smokehouse Outlaws! Their sides consist of potato chips and fresh-baked cookies!
By the way, the name “Moxmoe Pictures” is a composite of Moe, the owner, and his dog, Mox. I think that’s such a wholesome way to honor your pet in a business name!
Overall, I found out Moxmoe Pictures won back to back Reader’s Choice awards for Best Fast Food Eatery and Best Sandwich/Sub, and rightfully so! Moxmoe Pictures Famous Sandwiches is HANDS DOWN my favorite sandwich shop in Pennsylvania, WAY better than Subway! It’s run by very creative and passionate people, especially Moe himself! I stop here for dinner every Art Walk and I will continue to do so! If you’re in Huntingdon and want something different, I strongly recommend giving Moxmoe Pictures a try! You’ll be...
Read moreMoxmoe Pictures Famous Sandwiches is a place that not only offers delicious sandwiches, but also an experience. As soon as you walk through the door, you can tell that Moe, the founder, has a passion for movies and cinema. The theming and branding of this establishment are on point, and it's hard not to appreciate the attention to detail. I had an enjoyable time trying to choose my sandwich because the creative names were very enticing.
I ended up going for the "Adventure Awaits" sandwich, which had chicken, buffalo garlic sauce, American cheese, lettuce, and chipotle ranch. The combination of the flavors was perfect, and the sandwich was very satisfying. It was clear that the food was made with care and attention to detail.
Moe's bio, which I learned about from their website, was inspiring. It was fascinating to read about his journey and how he came up with the idea for Moxmoe Pictures. He has always had a business-like mindset, and his drive to build something larger than himself is what led him to create this establishment. The name "Moxmoe" comes from his dog Mox, who he credits with helping him come up with the name after he had struggled to find a name that fit.
Overall, my experience at Moxmoe Pictures Famous Sandwiches was fantastic. The food was delicious, the theming was well-executed, and the backstory of the founder added an extra layer of appreciation. If you're in the area, I highly recommend stopping by for a bite to eat. You won't be...
Read morethe service was excellent very friendly. as for the atmosphere it looks like the movie theater and the tickets they give you with film character names to call out for your order is a cute and fun time something very simple but it makes for a fun little visit if youre not a total stick in the mud. with those two excellent things out of the way now for the reason you actually visit the place the food... i tried a few subs to give this new location to town a shot and see what they had to offer. the tuna was solid the flavor wasnt bad it wasnt dry it was a solid tuna sub not the best ive ever had but certainly not the worst id go there for a tuna sub if youre craving one. i also tried the hiker because it is similar to a sub i frequent at jersey mikes sadly this sub was a little underflavored in comparison cost a few dollars more and seems thinner on the meat portion the cheese bread is wonderful but bread cant save the rest of the sub i didnt look into if they have a rewards club or anything like that but for a better product at a lower price in jersey mikes you can use their rewards and earn free subs if you frequent the spot. im not usually one to talk highly of chain food places but thats the closest in terms of subs that i can compare it to. now as with any place ill give it another shot down the line and give my final review maybe my food just wasnt made well they are newer to the...
