The last time I visited this location earlier this year, I was refused use of my pre-washed, clean, ceramic mug for a hot beverage. The staff and shift manager all insisted I must accept a disposable cup or they would not process my drink order.
My understanding is this behavior is illegal since Jan. 1st, 2020, due to California law AB 619, which "Allows restaurant customers to bring — and eat with/from — their own food containers and silverware." (It also allows food vendors at fairs, festivals, & farmers markets to use reusable items, which has been against the code until 1/1/20.)
When I stated AB 619 as the law forbidding the treatment I was experiencing, I was first met with incredulous stares & a desire to assist by front line employees, but ultimately the defiant, offended attitude of the shift manager quashed the other employees sense that they could be of service.
While still in the establishment, I took time to write CBC (via the 'contact us' option provided on their website), providing a detailed account of the law violation I had just experienced within their establishment. I have yet to hear back from anyone. My hope is by increasing awareness of their law breaking, this exposure will assist them in improving their behavior toward all future customers who are attempting to practice more environmentally-sensitive habits protected by law.
For now, I'm boycotting all CBC locations due to the law breaking behavior I experienced, & urge you to do the same.
Update: CBC has directed me to use the 'contact us' portion of their website that I already engaged with, leaving my contact info to no avail. Disappointing response,...
Read moreOn October 1st I placed an expensive order through Uber eats, once our food was delivered I realized the order wasn’t correct. It wasn’t Uber eats fault because the food was presented as sealed and untouched. I contacted Bella Terra Corner Bakery only to have their customer service basically tell me my order was correct when it wasn’t. They had actually mixed it up with another order that they received at the same time because the Uber driver told us there was a similar order with the same name to make sure it wasn’t ours. After back and forth the representative who I had spoken with said per her manager they would issue a full refund since they messed up our order. We did not receive the refund as promised so when I called to inquire I was told that they would not and they don’t know why I was told that in the first place, that I would need to go to Uber eats for a refund, I loved going there until this incident. I didn’t ask for a refund to begin with I just wanted my order to be corrected as to what I ordered and paid for, they offered the refund. The fact that they would not accept responsibility for the initial screw up and than offered something they couldn’t is a complete turn off for me. The manager wanted to give me a voucher instead but I’m already turned off by how unprofessional the situation was to begin with and will not go back there. I understand making a mistake, but not taking accountability twice and promising something you can’t deliver and being unprofessional is they will not receive my business...
Read moreI walked in around 4:30 for a late lunch and when i walked in there was a large party ahead of me which is fine. Well, as it turns out the large party in front of me was coming from like a high school event? every time that door opened there was more and more of them flooding in and they would just casually say “ excuse me i’m with them” and cut me in line. i was ok with the first 2 people because at that point it’s whatever what’s another 2 people? it got to the point where the lady in front of me of me kept telling the people behind me “what are you doing there come join us” and therefore more people were cutting me- they didn’t ask permission and it was like a clown car of people just skipping us in line. it was a group of 15+ people and their kids. and to top it all off, everyone paid separately!!!! so i had to wait for each person to complete their own separate transactions. i didn’t say anything because it looked like they were coming from like a holiday event and i didn’t want to be that person but how RUDE. if they wanted to all order together they should’ve walked in together or i don’t know ordered ahead. I was going to mention it to the cashier Ashlynn but she just looked so annoyed and i don’t blame her. i don’t understand how people can’t have common sense or proper manners. ALSO mind you i was with my dad and...
