Very disappointed, after many years of patronage (10+), never coming back. We ordered three meals, about $ 50 worth. The fish was rotten, it can happen with Fish. Perhaps the cook had a stuffed up nose that day, what happened next was inexcusable. My wife got up and carefully attempted to exchange the plate for another plate of food, without disturbing any of the other guest. The lady behind the counter raised her voice and caused a scene. Guest's started leaving. About a minute of this nonsense, I had enough and told her, the fish was rotten, you need to throw that fish and any other that came in same package away or you will make people very ill. You could seriously hurt someone with a weak immune system. My wife returned after being told the owner was coming out. We waited a good ten minutes, the rest of the guest had cleared the place, hope they did not have the Garlic Fish ? A man appeared and at this point, my wife was over it at this point. They never offered the requested replacement meal. If this man was any kind of real Chef, he would have stuck his nose into the plate of fish or even taken a small bite. He never did, because you could smell the rotten fish easily from inches away. We had paid for a rotten meal and my wife simply asked for a refund for that plate. The owner refused to issue a refund. We have ordered a lot of takeout food over the years, routinely over $ 50 + an order, at least every other week. Not sure if the place has changed ownership or not, but we will never come back again. Having read some other reviews, it is obvious the lady behind the counter should not be dealing with the public. If you have eaten here and become ill, contact me, I will gladly file an Affidavit with your Attorney or testify at trial. There is a lot of Peruvian food choices in the area. I would recommend Casa Inka or Inka Cantina all day long. I suspect a 'Under New Management' sign in the near future...
Read moreBy far the worst customer service experience that I have ever received. First of all, the lady that works the register told me that she doesn't usually give out straws for water cups when I asked. She handed the straws to me and said, "but I'll give it to you this time." How much do plastic straws really cost a business? I ordered a family meal with a whole chicken and 3 sides. When we asked for the complimentary garlic bread that we usually get with the meal, she said that garlic bread isn't given to people who order chicken. This place is called Peruvian Chicken for goodness sake! When I got upset and told her that I've been here before many times and always got garlic bread when I ordered the chicken, she told me, "you shut up". She then told me that was the owner's orders. The owner came out and I told her that the cashier told me to shut up...he shook his head in disbelief. I asked for an apology and he apologized for her. She didn't even apologize to me herself. If you want to be treated maliciously after paying for a meal with a side of verbal assault, then come eat here. Save your money for a place that values and appreciates...
Read moreMicrowaved food! This used to be our favorite Peruvian restaurant. However, we’ve noticed a decline in the quality of both service and food.
We ordered pollo a la brasa, fries and a salad. The pollo la brasa was under seasoned and underflavored, as some other people have mentioned, but the big concern was that it was microwaved! I could tell because there were hot and cold pockets, a telltale sign of food being microwaved. The fries were okay, its hard to mess up fries, and the salad was solely lettuce (and old lettuce at that) and tomato with ranch. Peruvian salad is supposed to come with aliño, but I didn’t knock off stars for that; it’s a difficult sauce to make here in the US.
There was a highchair for our baby, which was nice as not all small restaurants have one, but no ice for the drinks, and the restaurant was dimly lit. Being next door to a hookah lounge, you’d expect the door to be closed, but it was left open.
All in all, not a great experience. We have recently (post-COVID) purchased take-out, and maybe had a higher-expectation of dine-in, however, even if I remove expectations from before, food quality was...
