I've been on a mission to find a local spot that could match the quality of Heng Heng Chicken in Los Angeles, and I believe I've found it! This hidden gem in Orange County offers incredibly flavorful and perfectly cooked Hainan chicken. My only request is to duplicate Heng Heng a spicy crispy chicken salad.

The standout for me was the Hainan chicken itself. It was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. The accompanying rice was equally impressive, with a perfect balance of taste and texture that made it hard to resist. I found Chicken on Rice on DD and was so excited to try it. I’ve only had Hainan Chicken once before from Capital Noodle Bar in Irvine. Glad to see more Asian restaurants opening up in Huntington Beach! It’s a pretty simple and straightforward menu, I went with the combination (crispy and steamed chicken). The meal comes in this cute bento style box. If you don’t know what hainan chicken is it’s steamed chicken with ginger rice. Sounds simple, but it has so much flavor. Food was great and was quite filling. I couldn’t finish everything so it looks like I have lunch for tomorrow. Also ordered both Green and Thai Tea and was not expecting the large size! Happen to try this place out with a friend that was in town. Did not know it had been open since last year and right down the street from my office. The food is excellent, taste just like home. I ordered the pork belly with ginger rice is delicious especially with the jeow dipping sauce. I always ask for it to by a lot spicier. It includes a salad and soup, great value!
