Sushi Moon Ramen Teriyaki — Restaurant in Huntington Park

Hello everyone my name is Adan. Normally I write good reviews for restaurants who have great service, food, quality. I was craving sushi today but the restaurant that I go to it's at long beach and I did not wanted to do the drive so I search near spots around my area. Yesterday 12/23/24 I order one cooked lobster roll yesterday and it was delicious, I really liked their inside restaurant but I did not felt welcome and the girl in front is serious and a little rude but whatevers! Today as 12/24/24 since I really enjoy yesterday sushi, I bought some today and this time I bought super Volcano to try something different. I got home and my sister is here today and she try the first sushi roll. The sushi was pretty hot since I barley got it so she was eating it slow... while she was chewing she told me it has glass but I did not believe her until she spill it back in a napkin. I call the store complaining about it. I just wanted a refund back or an exchange of sushi roll because I did not trusted the other slices of the sushi. I told the girl to have her manager call me because their store policy (no refunds) yeah I get that but I got glass on the food.. its a different story! I try to be nice, I asked for a refund they said no, I ask them give me another sushi roll and they said no. Asian guy or manager who called me back was rude! I'm going to call the health department and submit a claim! Worst experience and plus I saw the same girl and told her I came yesterday and the sushi was good, she did not care hearing it.. when she handle me the order I told her merry christmas as a polite person but she did not told me nothing! I never experience this in my life! They just lost a new customer in 2 days. Since they acting so rude I recommend people since the store has a policy.. eat then you pay.. if you do not like any of their food... just do not pay and walk out.! I'm going to put picture of my sushi and the glass....

Came back after the health department shutdown. Took my date here for lunch, hoping to impress her by taking her to a new sushi spot. Let's talk about the good part the decor is very modern and anime inspired. My Date really enjoyed that part. The service was pretty much non-existent and had to constantly flag down the server to get some service. The food was OK, nothing to write home about I got a bento combination and a spicy tuna roll the spicy tuna tasted very artificial and the bento's teriyaki chicken was good but everything else was bland and the rice was mushy. Even the rice on the roll had the consistency of mochi.

Also did a little digging on the health department shutdown and looking through Yelp. I found out that a customer had a roach in their food.

Least to say I won't be coming back and I probably won't be getting a second...

I have been so excited for this place to open and went on the first night I noticed that they were open (June 21st, 2024). Their combos are extremely budget friendly and their rolls are reasonably priced because they give plenty of food. We had the Kuromi combo, the Mas Mas Roll with spam and their Crazy Salmon roll with the crunchy onion topping. Everything was delicious and well presented. Everything felt clean and the staff was friendly.

P.S. the one star reviews don't make sense and are insincere/disingenuous because this is a brand new business in this location. The previous business here was a fast food Chinese restaurant named China Express that would serve you premade hot food out of buffet trays. That's the place that was shut down by the Health Dept, not Sushi Moon...
