I never leave review and let things slide but because the manager at the 3rd avenue location was so rude I have to.
I placed an order online. When I got on it clearly said Luigi’s Italian Restaurant (Milton). When I tried to order it wouldn’t let me. I clicked and it wouldn’t work. I had to refresh multiple times. When it did it must have switched. A girl at work went down to pick up 5 orders. Mine was not there. I sent her a screen shot of my order and the girl in Milton said sorry that’s not here and refused to help anymore. I called the Milton location and she was very flippant and said well I guess you can call the other locations intill you find it. Very not helpful.
I called Rt 60 and they didn’t have it. I called the 3rd avenue and the girl that answered the phone said yeah it’s here. I told her I was in Milton and I couldn’t drive downtown to get it. She said hold on. I immediately hear someone say Luigi downtown how can I help you. Repeated several times. I thought they were answering the phone not talking to me. Eventually I said it’s me and the lady said I’m the manager what do you need.
I explained the situation and she said yeah you ordered at the wrong store. I explained to her that it was giving me issues and must have changed. She said, well it’s here. I explained that was was 30 miles away and she didn’t seem to care and I said can you please refund my money and she said no but before I could say anything else she said, “well I’ll just refund it but I’m not doing this again, this is happening too much and you are going to cause us to go out of business.”
Well I have never done this before and I’ve never even been to the downtown location but she did say it was happening a lot and I tried to explain to her that maybe if it’s happening all the time that the website was the problem. She said no I have placed 4 orders today because of complaints and they all went through just fine. Then she blamed my internet.
Well if you’ve had 4 complaints today then there is a problem it was not just me. The lady at Milton also told me in the phone that there is problems with your online ordering as well. So seems to me that instead of getting mad at your customer you get mad at your website designer.
I absolutely love Luigi’s food, Rt 60 staff has always been great and I eat at Milton 4-5 times a month and always have good service but having to deal with the manager at your Huntington location has completely turned me off. I will not say I’m never eating there again because the food is just too good but I’m gonna have to take a break. 2 appetizers was $24 and they refund $20 (not the fees) I’m okay with that but the rudeness couldn’t be ignored.
If my 1 order is going to close your location that’s a sign of a major problem and in this case it’s...
Read moreI have had the Luigi’s on Rt 60 a number of times and it has always been excellent. This new Luigi’s definitely lives up the reputation, in all but one way. I ate at this location for the first time last night and ordered the large meat calzone (ham, bacon, pepperoni, sausage). The bread was excellent, cheese abundant, it came out warm and was huge. It felt to be lacking the amount meat that I expected (considering it is called the Meat Lovers Calzone), but it was adequate I suppose. The main issue that I have is the quality of the meat. Sliced ham, ok. Pepperoni seemed good. The sausage was not very flavorful, honestly if you didn’t know it had sausage you wouldn’t guess it after eating it. The bacon, however, was terrible. There was no taste of bacon, and the bacon used is industrial fake-on. Uniform strips that honestly look like bacon strips for dogs. Thankfully, the bacon did not have a “bad” taste, just no taste at all. The calzone plus a fountain drink was $22, which I wouldn’t complain about if they had not skimped on quality. My dad had the same experience with this same calzone at the Rt 60 location, which is actually why I decided to...
Read moreThe food quality made up for come problems that happened. Ordered online from their website and it took them 25 minutes to get the order. The site showed a green line like at other large pizza chains. So I assumed it was done. It wasn't. That was confirmation their received the order. When I went to get it the manager was nice and offered to give me a drink while I waited. The pizza was made promptly. I had take out. The pizza itself tasted good and was a good quality. However I paid extra for this cheese Thick Sicilian and it was not thick at all really other than the crust. And that wasn't even that thick. When compared with their regular 'new york' style thin crust (which i added pepperoni to), I feel like they get the two backwards. They were both thin, but the ny style was thicker in the crust. We also got wings and they were fine, but maybe a little overcooked. I feel like with some tweaking, this place can be really good. Oh, also when you walk in for a pickup you have to walk through tables which I dont like. But like I...
