Some street parking and parking garages nearby. What a cool spot, and it looks like they had an arcade upstairs that we didn't get a chance to experience. Food and beer were delicious here. We were actually torn between here and a couple other beer spots on our road trip through. Our server was attentive and friendly. We ordered 2 flights:
Cautious Granny - really good spiced Ale that was enjoyable and delicious. Brawndo: Orange - interesting concept with the electrolytes. It was good but a little too tart for me. [We did get this on the 2nd flight as well] Sweaterweather - I only got a hint of cranberries but a good wheat beer and easy to drink. Appalachian Bandito - a better version of a Corona, it was really good and had a great flavor. Light and refreshing. Jewel City One Fiddy - just a tad hoppy for a golden Ale bit still very good and light. Boggercat - I love a good brown Ale and this was delicious! I really enjoyed the small notes of caramel. Happy Hunty - pretty decent hefeweizen with good flavor. Very light and easy to drink.
The food was super good and put us in a good coma. We got the Lobster Mac and cheese which was a large portion! There wasn't too much Lobster which was ablittle disappointing but still really good. We also ordered the Langostino Roll and truffle fries. Definitely recommend both! Would definitely come back to try other food if we ever pass...
Read moreWe were in Huntington for the State Wrestling tournament. About 13 of us came in and were explicit in explaining we did not have to sit at the same table, we only had an hour to eat so we could sit at separate tables. For some inexplicable reason, the server refused to seat us, because she had to wait for another server to arrive. However, a party of 7 was seated, a party of 5 was seated and a few couples, more people than than all of the people waiting, which at this point had been about 20 minutes. When asked why she was not seating us, she flippantly told us she was just trying to do her job. She then went to the bar and retrieved an iPad. After she seated the party of 7, I ask to speak to a manager. He indicated the people that were seated before us must have been on a list on the iPad, that she clearly didn’t have. He later said during the conversation that you can’t make reservations, so I’m still perplexed about the “seating list.” He was defensive and sarcastic. We were pretty hyped to try the place out after hearing the good reviews, but clearly they didn’t care about having our business. Just really disappointed in the lack of trying to make the situation right. If you plan to go out to eat with a large party, either skip this joint or split yourselves up...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I each ordered a burger with a side of fries and waters to drink. Nothing more. Somehow the bill ended up being $37. I’m still not sure how! The burgers were $9 each ($18 total) and I’m not sure about an upcharge for fries, but unless the upcharge for fries was $19, something went wrong. I’d have said something, but I didn’t want to embarrass myself in front of my girlfriend, who I was treating to a relaxed date. I thought the food itself was pretty good though, but my girlfriend hated it. Next, the server was also very rude toward us. It’s not that it was busy, he just didn’t want to help us even though I made myself look like a fool in my efforts to be kind toward him. It’s a very “hipster” environment (they have like a millionbeer options which is cool, and all the employees just have that look ya know?) and we’re just kinda normal college kids, so I feel like he may have looked down on us for how we dressed or looked :/ I’m sad to say this, because I love supporting local businesses, but the price and bad service really turned me off. I will not be returning here to eat until I finish law school and can...
