Hardee’s — Restaurant in Huntsville

I'm so sad to write something that is negative, when it may be completely out of the control of the local owners, but......$7.50 for every sandwich? That's before you add a combo to it! McD's has the McDouble for $1.99 and that's what keeps me coming back. I love Hardee's, especially their morning menu, and I went by in the afternoon to grab "just" a burger before I got back and ate the salad my wife sent me to work with! :) But $7.50? Jeez! I believe that I have some kind of internal limit of what I will spend on myself for lunch, and I don't want to spend more than $10 on a special day. Most days I pack my lunch, and to be honest, I have not ordered food from Hardee's (lunch or dinner) in a long time, so these prices might not be new to those of you that choose to eat lunch out more than I. But golly, the combos were more than ten dollars before tax! I also admit that Hardee's chooses not to play the same game that the other places do: the "Monster" burger, those burgers that pile another sandwich on top of the hamburger patty, the "Big" hot ham and cheese. They are endeavoring to put themselves in a "fast casual" atmosphere, I think. But it is hard to get out of your own success, sometimes, and I will always consider Hardee's to have a great breakfast menu and affordable (i.e. competitively priced) lunch and dinner menu. I hope they are successful, because if Hardee's was at the local mall near a movie theater, I think that $7.50 would be a bargain for one of their sandwiches. There are times when I feel like I am not surrendering the things of my youth very well, and perhaps the ever-marching sound of inflation is simply a cadence I should get accustomed to. Maybe $6 for a coffee is normal, maybe $2 for a soda is fine, maybe $2 for a candy bar is just the going price. But mark my words, I will be giving Hardee's a long thought before I go back, and when I do, it will be for breakfast, and even then, I am going to pay real close attention to the prices of their...

I used to go here almost daily for breakfast. I had TWO instances of my order being incorrect and being overcharged as a result. The first time the lady argued with me that I should just take the order she was giving me and the second time I didn't catch it until it was too late. They almost never repeat your order back at the drive thru OR the window, never get a receipt. They're in such a rush to get people out that they don't check orders properly. I complained to corporate to get my stolen money back and it's been two weeks and they still haven't gotten back to me after I've contacted them twice. I will never go back here and I highly suggest not going to this location, but if you do, ask them to repeat your order before you hand them your card, ask for a receipt, and check your bag before you drive off. I must have waited in the drive through line what seemed to be 20 minutes. Said "Hello?" multiple times with no reply. Line of cars backed up behind me and customers behind me saying "just pull up, they're in there!" So I did. A worker came to the window and was dumbfounded that I was there. I said that I believe the intercom isn't working but she said that it was. I asked if I could go ahead and give my order now. Her manager (who didn't have the courage to face me personally) told the worker to tell me that I need to go around in get in the back of the drive through line. The line was now nearly 10 cars. I will never go back to that place again. Poor service. Poor management. Even the facilities looked horribly dirty from what I could see through the window. I'm glad I didn't get anything there.
